He also contributed the opening titles theme for the show created by Abe Sylvia (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, Filthy Rich) and starring Jessica Chastain, Michael Shannon, Steve Zahn, Kelly McCormack, Walton Goggins, Pat Healy, David Wilson Barnes and Katy Mixon. The 6-part drama directed by John Hillcoat (The Road, Lawless) is based on the book The Three of Us: Growing Up with Tammy and George by Georgette Jones and chronicles one of music’s most legendary power couples, Tammy Wynette and George Jones.

Atticus Ross to Score John Hillcoat’s ‘Triple Nine’
Atticus Ross has been hired to score the upcoming crime drama Triple Nine. The film is directed by John Hillcoat and stars Casey Affleck, Woody Harrelson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Winslet, Anthony Mackie, Aaron Paul, Teresa Palmer, Gal Gadot, Clifton Collins Jr and Norman Reedus. The movie centers around a gang of criminals and corrupt cops who plan the murder of a police officer in order to pull of their biggest heist yet across town. Matt Rook has written the screenplay. Keith Redmon (The Beaver), Bard Dorros (Fun Size) and Steve Golin (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Being John Malkovich) are producing the Worldview Entertainment and Anonymous Content production.
Sony Masterworks to Release Nick Cave’s and Warren Ellis’ ‘Lawless’ Soundtrack
Sony Masterworks will be releasing the soundtrack album for John Hillcoat’s western Lawless. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nick Cave and Warren Ellis who previously scored the director’s features The Proposition and The Road. The soundtrack will be released on August 28, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full soundtrack details will be posted on this site within the next couple of weeks. Lawless starring Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke, Guy Pearce, Jessica Chastain and Mia Wasikowska. Nick Cave has also written the project’s screenplay, which is based on the novel The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant. The film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and is set to be released on August 29 by the Weinstein Company.
Nick Cave to score ‘The Wettest County in the World’
The Playlist recently reported that Nick Cave has confirmed to Triple R that he will be scoring the upcoming western The Wettest County in the World. Cave has already written the screenplay for the movie based on a novel by Matt Bondurant. The composer reunites with director John Hillcoat, who worked with Cave on his previous movies The Proposition and The Road. No word yet on if Cave’s co-composer Warren Ellis will be involved on the new project. The Wettest County in the World stars Shia Labeouf, Tom Hardy, Guy Pearce, Gary Oldman, Mia Wasikowska, Jessica Chastain and Jason Clarke. The film revolves around a moonshine gang operating in the bootlegging capital of America — Franklin County, Va. — during Prohibition. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie is currently in pre-production in Georgia and is scheduled to begin filming on Feb. 28.
