The film is directed by Eran Creevy (Welcome to the Punch) and stars Nicholas Hoult, Anthony Hopkins, Felicity Jones and Ben Kingsley. The movie follows a young US couple who are plunged into a game of cat-and-mouse across Germany when they find themselves caught between two ruthless criminals. F. Scott Frazier (The Numbers Station) has written the screenplay. Joel Silver (The Matrix, Die Hard, Sherlock Holmes) is producing the project with Ben Pugh & Rory Aitken (Monsters: Dark Continent), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special) and Daniel Hetzer.

Johnny Klimek has been tapped to score the upcoming action thriller Patient Zero. The film is directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky (The Counterfeiters, Anatomy, Deadfall) and stars Matt Smith, Natalie Dormer, John Bradley Agyness Deyn and Stanley Tucci. The movie takes place after an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has turned the majority of humankind into highly intelligent, streamlined killers and follows one victim who is asymptomatic and can communicate with the infected and leads the last survivors on a hunt for Patient Zero and a cure.
Chris Bacon Scoring Rob Reiner’s ‘Being Charlie’
Chris Bacon is currently recording his score for Rob Reiner’s upcoming drama Being Charlie. The movie follows an 18-year-old who breaks out of a youth drug treatment clinic, but when he returns home to Los Angeles, he’s given an intervention by his parents and forced to go to an adult rehab. The film stars Nick Robinson, Morgan Saylor, Common, Devon Bostick, Susan Misner, Ricardo Chavira and Cary Elwes. Reiner is also producing the project with Simon Goldberg through their Castle Rock Entertainment company, alongside Johnson Chan and Stephanie Rennie. The director’s son Nick Reiner wrote the screenplay with Matt Elisofon.
Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans to Score ‘Frank & Lola’
Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans have been hired to score the upcoming romantic thriller Frank & Lola. The film is written and directed by Matthew Ross and stars Imogen Poots, Michael Shannon, Michael Nyqvist, Justin Long, Rosanna Arquette and Emmanuelle Devos. The movie follows a Las Vegas chef and a promising fashion designer whose love affair is badly derailed when the woman’s past and present demons resurface. Jay Van Hoy & Lars Knudsen (Beginners, Love Is Strange, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints) are producing the project with John Baker and Chris Ramirez.
Stephen Barton Scoring Michael Apted’s ‘Unlocked’
Stephen Barton is the composer of the upcoming thriller Unlocked. The film is directed by Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough, Nell, Gorillas in the Mist, Class Action) and stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Douglas, Orlando Bloom, Toni Collette and John Malkovich. The movie follows a female CIA interrogator who unwittingly provides information to terrorists and then must race against the clock to stop a biological warfare attack on London. Peter O’Brien wrote the screenplay. Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers series, RED, Salt) is producing the project with Georgina Townsley and Erik Howsam.
Gabriel Yared Scoring ‘Chocolat’
Gabriel Yared is scoring the upcoming French biographical period drama Chocolat. The film is directed by actor Roschdy Zem and stars Omar Sy, James Thierree and Clothilde Hesme. The movie tells the life story of Padilla, aka Chocolat, who became the first black artist to appear on a French stage in the 19th century and centers around his lifelong friendship with a white artist nicknamed Footit. Eric and Nicolas Altmayer (Saint Laurent, In the House, The New Girlfriend) are producing the Mandarin Cinema production.
Michael Giacchino to Return for ‘Star Trek Beyond’
Michael Giacchino confirmed on Twitter that he is set to compose the music for Star Trek Beyond. The film marks the composer’s third score in the series following his work on J.J. Abrams’ 2009 original film and 2013’s Star Trek Into Darkness. The third installment is directed by Justin Lin (Fast & Furious, Fast Five) and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho and Anton Yelchin who reprise their roles from the previous films and are joined by Idris Elba, Bryan Cranston and Sofia Boutella.
Ennio Morricone to Score Quentin Tarantino’s ‘The Hateful Eight’
Quentin Tarantino revealed during a panel today at Comic-Con in San Diego that Ennio Morricone is currently composing the music for the director’s upcoming western The Hateful Eight. The film stars Channing Tatum, Samuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Demian Bichir, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, James Parks, Dana Gourrier and Zoe Bell. The movie written and directed by Tarantino is set on a wintry Wyoming landscape as a storm overtakes a stagecoach on a mountainside stopover.
Matthew Margeson to Score ‘Eddie the Eagle’
Matthew Margeson is set to score the upcoming biographical drama Eddie the Eagle. The film is directed by Dexter Fletcher (Sunshine on Leith, Wild Bill) and stars Taron Egerton, Hugh Jackman, Christopher Walken, Jo Hartley, Tim McInnerny and Ania Sowinski. The movie tells the story of ski jumper Michael Edwards who rose to fame as the very-last-place finisher in two events at the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, but left as a scene-stealing poster boy for never-say-die underdogs everywhere. Simon Kelton and Sean Macauley have written the screenplay.

Anton Sanko has been tapped to score the upcoming psychological thriller Border Crossing. The film is directed by Bette Gordon and stars Josh Charles, Julia Stiles, Avan Jogia, Tracie Thoms, Leo Fitzpatrick and John C McGinley. The movie is based on the novel by Pat Barker and follows a psychologist who reopens old wounds and an old case after he rescues a drowning person whom he helped convict twelve years earlier. Stephen Molton and Frank Pugliese have adapted the screenplay. Jamin O’Brien and Daniel L Blanc are producing the project with Radium Cheun.
