John Debney is reteaming with director Brad Anderson on the upcoming political action thriller High Wire Act. The film starring Jon Hamm, Rosamund Pike, Dean Norris, Larry Pine, Shea Whigham and Mark Pellegrino centers on a former U.S. diplomat who gets called back into service in 1980s Beirut to save a former colleague from the group responsible for his wife’s death. Tony Gilroy (Michael Clayton, Duplicity, The Bourne Legacy) has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Shivani Rawat & Monica Levinson (Trumbo, Captain Fantastic), as well as Ted Field (Revenge of the Nerds, Riddick) and Mike Weber (Jumanji) of Radar Pictures.

Alexandra Harwood Scoring Dominic Savage’s ‘The Escape’
This week, Alexandra Harwood is recording her score for the upcoming British drama The Escape. The film is written and directed by Dominic Savage (Love + Hate) and stars Dominic Cooper, Gemma Arterton, Jalil Lespert, Marthe Keller and Frances Barber. The movie centers on a dissatisfied woman who leaves her family behind. Guy Heeley (Locke, Redemption, London Spy) is producing the project for Shoebox Films.
Jonny Greenwood to Score Paul Thomas Anderson’s Next Movie
Focus Features has confirmed today that Jonny Greenwood will be reteaming with director Paul Thomas Anderson on his next, currently untitled project. The movie starring Daniel Day-Lewis, Lesley Manville and Vicky Krieps is set in the couture world of 1950s London and centers on the life behind the curtain of an uncompromising dressmaker commissioned by royalty and high society. Anderson who also wrote the screenplay is producing the project with JoAnne Sellar (Magnolia, Boogie Nights) and Megan Ellison (Her, Sausage Party, Zero Dark Thirty, Spring Breakers) through her Annapurna Pictures company.
Max Richter Scoring Showtime’s ‘Guerrilla’ & Scott Cooper’s ‘Hostiles’
Max Richter is scoring the upcoming Showtime original series Guerrilla. The show is created John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, American Crime) and stars Idris Elba, Frieda Pinto and Babou Ceesay. The drama tells the story of a politically active couple whose relationship and values are tested when they liberate a political prisoner and form a radical underground cell in 1970s London. Ridley who is also directing the first two and final episodes and Elba are also executive producing the Fifty Fathoms and ABC Signature production with Michael J. McDonald (American Crime), Patrick Spence (Fortitude), Katie Swinden and Tracy Underwood.
Alberto Iglesias to Score Carlos Vermut’s ‘Quién te cantará’
Alberto Iglesias is set to compose the music for the upcoming Spanish/French drama Quién te cantará. The film is directed by Carlos Vermut (Magical Girl, Diamond Flash) and stars Najwa Nimri, Carme Elías and Eva Llorach. The movie centers on a world-famous singer who loses her memory in an accident. Her number one fan helps her to remember who she was. Enrique López Lavigne (The Impossible, 28 Weeks Later, Open Windows, Intruders) is producing the project for Apache Films. The composer has previously scored the López Lavigne-produced 2001 feature Sex and Lucia.
Dan Romer Scoring Trudie Styler’s ‘Freak Show’
Dan Romer has composed the original music for the upcoming indie drama Freak Show. The film marks the narrative feature directorial debut of Trudie Styler and stars Alex Lawther, Abigail Breslin, AnnaSophia Robb, Bette Midler, Ian Nelson, Celia Weston, Willa Fitzgerald, Laverne Cox and John McEnroe. The movie is based on the book of the same title by James St. James and follows a cross-dressing teenager who, despite attending an ultra conservative high school, makes the decision to run for homecoming queen. Patrick J. Clifton (Raising Helen, Son in Law) wrote the screenplay.
Jeff Beal to Score Rob Reiner’s ‘Shock and Awe’
Jeff Beal is currently scoring the upcoming drama Shock and Awe. The film is directed by Rob Reiner and stars Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones, James Mardsen, Milla Jovovich, Jessica Biel, Richard Schiff, Luke Tennie, as well as Reiner himself. The movie tells the story of the only group of journalists who started questioning the lead-up to the war and began asking tough questions about Saddam Hussein’s alleged weapons of mass destruction. Joey Hartstone (LBJ) wrote the screenplay. Reiner is also producing the project with Matthew George (Wind River) and Michele Reiner.
Rolfe Kent to Score Nicolas Bary’s ‘Le petit Spirou’
Rolfe Kent is reteaming with director Nicolas Bary on the upcoming French/Belgian family comedy Le petit Spirou. The film starring Sacha Pinaud, François Damiens, Pierre Richard, Natacha Régnier, Philippe Katerine and Laure Hennequart s based on the popular Belgian comic book series created by Philippe Tome & Janry. Bary also co-wrote the screenplay with Laurent Turner (The Odyssey, Team Spirit) and is producing the project with Jean Cottin (La ligne droite, Turning Tide) and Nathanaël La Combe. Kent has previously scored Bary’s last feature, The Scapegoat (Au bonheur des ogres).
Rael Jones Scoring Roger Michell’s ‘My Cousin Rachel’
This week, Rael Jones has recorded his score for the upcoming romantic drama My Cousin Rachel. The film is directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes, Morning Glory) and stars Rachel Weisz, Sam Claflin, Holliday Grainger and Iain Glen. The movie is based on the 1951 novel by Daphne Du Maurier and tells the story of a young Englishman who plots revenge against his mysterious, beautiful cousin, believing that she murdered his guardian. Michell also wrote the screenplay. Kevin Loader (The Lady in the Van, In the Loop, The History Boys, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin) is producing the project.
Ceiri Torjussen to Score ‘All Creatures’
Ceiri Torjussen has signed on to score the upcoming indie drama All Creatures (aka All Creatures Here Below). The film is directed by Collin Schiffli (Animals) and stars Karen Gillan, David Dastmalchian, Jennifer Morrison, Richard Cabral, John Doe and David Koechner. The movie follows a desperate young couple on the run who seek refuge in Kansas City. Dastmalchian also wrote the screenplay. Amy Greene, Ignacio Arenas and Chris Stinson (The Lovers) are producing the project.
