The film is co-written and directed by the filmmaker and stars herself, alongside Fanny Ardant, Louis Garrel, Marine Vacth, Alain Françon, Caroline Chaniolleau, Dylan Robert, Henri-Noël Tabary and Omar Marwan. The movie revolves around a woman with close ties to a beloved Algerian grandfather who protected her from a toxic home life as a child.

Guillaume Roussel Scoring Ashley Avis’ ‘Black Beauty’
Guillaume Roussel (3 Days to Kill, Happy!, The Spy, The Man with the Iron Heart, Primal, It Boy, Ransom) has recently scored the upcoming new film adaptation of Anna Sewell’s classic 19th century novel Black Beauty. The film is written and directed by Ashley Avis (Adolescence, Deserted) and stars Mackenzie Foy, Iain Glen, Claire Forlani, as well as Kate Winslet as the voice of Black Beauty. The drama follows a 17-year old girl who is grieving over the loss of her parents and develops a bond with a wild mustang that is captured and taken away from family.
Amie Doherty to Score DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Spirit Riding Free’ Movie
Amie Doherty (Undone, Battle at Big Rock, The High Note, Here and Now) has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature Spirit Riding Free. The film directed by Elaine Bogan (Tales of Arcadia: Trollhunters & 3Below) is based on DreamWorks Animation Television’s Netflix original series of the same title, which was itself inspired by the 2002 feature Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron (scored by Hans Zimmer and featuring songs by Bryan Adams). The movie follows Lucky Prescott as she is forced to move from her big city home to a small frontier town, where she becomes a complete fish-out-of-water, makes new friends and forms an inseparable bond with a wild mustang named Spirit.
Matt Bowen Scoring Jeremy Garelick’s Hulu Film ‘The Binge’
Matt Bowen has composed the original score for the upcoming Hulu original film The Binge. The movie is directed by Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer) and stars Skyler Gisondo, Eduardo Franco, Dexter Darden, Vince Vaughn, Hayes MacArthur, Affion Crockett and Grace Van Dien. The comedy is set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal, the only day anyone can participate in the “fun” is on Binge day. Jordan VanDina wrote the screenplay. Garelick is also producing the American High production with Will Phelps (Big Time Adolescence), Mickey Liddell (Jackie, The Grey), Pete Shilaimon (I Can Only Imagine, Risen), Nicole Stojkovich, Ryan Bennett and Michael Schade.
Ludovico Einaudi Scoring Chloé Zhao’s ‘Nomadland’
Searchlight Pictures announced today that the upcoming drama Nomadland will feature compositions by Ludovico Einaudi (The Intouchables, This Is England, Samba). The film is written and directed by Chloé Zhao (The Rider, The Eternals) and stars Frances McDormand and David Strathairn, as well as real nomads Linda May, Swankie and Bob Wells. The is based on journalist Jessica Bruder’s 2017 non-fiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century and follows a woman who, after the economic collapse of a company town in rural Nevada, packs her van and sets off on the road exploring a life outside of conventional society as a modern-day nomad.

Ola Flottum (Force Majeure, Thelma, Louder Than Bombs, Reprise) has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Lost Girls and Love Hotels. The film is directed by William Olsson (An American Affair) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Carice van Houten, Misuzu Kanno, Kate Easton and Takehiro Hira. The movie revolves around an American English teacher and her nightly pilgrimages through Tokyo’s glittering nightlife in an attempt to forget her painful past and discover new meaning in the arms of a mysterious man. Catherine Hanrahan wrote the screenplay based on her own book.
Paul Leonard-Morgan to Score Lina Roessler’s ‘Best Sellers’
Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Dredd, Tales from the Loop, Wormwood, Walking with Dinosaurs 3D) has been hired to score the upcoming comedy Best Sellers. The film is directed by Lina Roessler and stars Michael Caine, Aubrey Plaza, Scott Speedman and Ellen Wong. The movie revolves around a has-been author who embarks on a wild book tour with a young editor trying to save her father’s boutique publishing house. Anthony Grieco wrote the screenplay.
Justin Burnett Returns as Composer for Roger Kumble’s ‘After We Collided’
Justin Burnett is returning as the composer for the upcoming romantic drama After We Collided, the sequel to last year’s After. The film is directed by Roger Kumble (Cruel Intentions, The Sweetest Thing) and stars Josephine Langford, Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Dylan Sprouse, Charlie Weber, Candice King, Karimah Westbrook, Rob Estes, Shane Paul McGhie, Samuel Larsen, Dylan Arnold and Khadijha Red. The movie is based on the YA romance novel by Anna Todd who also wrote the sequel’s screenplay with Mario Celaya. Todd is also producing the Voltage Pictures production with Jennifer Gibgot (Tangled, Step Up), Mark Canton (300, Immortals), Courtney Solomon (Cake, Mr. Church), Nicholas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Colossal) and Brian Pitt.

Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Logan, Scream, A Quiet Place, The Hurt Locker) has recently scored the upcoming documentary The Way I See It. The film is directed by Dawn Porter (John Lewis: Good Trouble, Gideon’s Army, Bobby Kennedy for President) and centers on former Chief Official White House Photographer Pete Souza. The movie tracks Souza’s journey from a man with top secret clearance and total access to the President, whose job description meant he was required to be invisible, to a man who has turned his focus on the present day and who uses his art as commentary to help us understand where we are now as a country and what we might be missing.

Christopher Lennertz (Horrible Bosses, Sausage Party, Supernatural, Baywatch) has been tapped to score the upcoming live-action/animated hybrid feature Tom & Jerry. The film is directed by Tim Story (Fantastic Four, Barbershop) and stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Pena, Colin Jost, Ken Jeong, Rob Delaney, Jordan Bolger and Pallavi Sharda. The movie based on the cartoon characters created by William Hanna & Joseph Barbera follows a scrappy hustler who enlists Tom to help her evict Jerry from a fancy New York hotel before a high class wedding. Chris DeFaria (Cats & Dogs) is producing the Warner Animation Group production.
