Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Last Showgirl. The album features the film’s original score composed by Andrew Wyatt (Barbie). Also included is the original song Beautiful That Way co-written (with Wyatt & Lykke Li) and performed by Miley Cyrus (listen to the track below). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 20 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The Last Showgirl is directed by Gia Coppola, written by Kate Gersten and stars Pamela Anderson, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, Dave Bautista and Jamie Lee Curtis. ‘Mainstream’ Soundtrack Album Details
Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for Gia Coppola’s comedy drama Mainstream. The album features the film’s original music composed by Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) (Queen & Slim, We Are Who We Are, Passing) who previously scored the director’s last feature, Palo Alto. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 7 and will be available to stream/download here. Mainstream is co-written and directed by Coppola and stars Maya Hawke, Andrew Garfield, Nat Wolff, Kalena Yiaueki, Johnny Knoxville and Jason Schwartzman. The movie follows a young woman who thinks she’s found a path to internet stardom when she starts making YouTube videos with a charismatic stranger – until the dark side of viral celebrity threatens to ruin them both.
Dev Hynes (Blood Orange) Scoring Gia Coppola’s ‘Mainstream’
Devonté Hynes (aka Blood Orange) is reteaming with director Gia Coppola to score the upcoming drama Mainstream. The film starring Andrew Garfield, Maya Hawke, Nat Wolff, Jason Schwartzman, Johnny Knoxville, Chris Messina, Alexa Demie & Colleen Camp is being described as a cautionary tale about the devastating power of social media and follows three people who struggle to preserve their identities as they form an eccentric love triangle. Coppola also co-wrote the screenplay with Tom Stuart.
‘Palo Alto’ Soundtrack Released
Domino USA has released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Palo Alto. The album features the film’s original songs by Dev Hynes and his musical project Blood Orange, as well as Robert Schwartzman. Also included are other songs from the film by artists including Coconut Records, Mac Demarco and Nat & Alex Wolff. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. A physical version will be released on June 3, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Palo Alto is directed by Gia Coppola and stars Emma Roberts, James Franco, Jack Kilmer, Nat Wolff, Zoe Levin, Claudia Levy, Chris Messina and Val Kilmer. The movie is based on a short stories collection by James Franco and follows three intertwined storylines. Tribeca Film will release the drama in Los Angeles and New York on May 9, 2014.
