‘The Duke’ Soundtrack Album Details
MovieScore Media will release the official soundtrack album for British comedy drama The Duke. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee George Fenton (Dangerous Liaisons, Groundhog Day, Hitch, Anna and the King, The Blue Planet, Ever After). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 25 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Duke is directed by Roger Michell and stars Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, Fionn Whitehead, Matthew Goode and Anna Maxwell Martin. The movie follows a 60 year-old London cab driver who in 1961 stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery, the only robbery in the museum’s history.
George Fenton Scoring Roger Michell’s ‘Elizabeth’ Documentary
George Fenton (Dangerous Liaisons, Groundhog Day, Anna and the King, Ever After, The Blue Planet) has composed the original music for the upcoming documentary Elizabeth. The movie marks the final film of late director Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes) who passed away last week and centers on the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch. The Free Range Films production is produced by Michell and Kevin Loader (The Death of Stalin, The Personal History of David Copperfield). Fenton has previously scored Michell’s last feature The Duke, which premiered at last year’s Venice Film Festival and has been picked up for domestic distribution by Sony Pictures Classics for a release in 2022.
‘Blackbird’ Soundtrack Album Details
Deutsche Grammophon will release a soundtrack album for the British drama Blackbird. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Gregson (A Little Chaos, Adolescence), as well as two tracks from the composer/cellist’s “recomposed” Bach Cello Suites. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Blackbird is directed by Roger Michell and stars Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Rainn Wilson, Sam Neill, Anson Boon, Lindsay Duncan, Mia Wasikowska and Bex Taylor-Klaus. The movie is based on the 2014 Danish feature Silent Heart and centers on a terminally ill mother who invites her family to their country house for one final gathering, but tensions quickly boil over between her two daughters.

The film is directed by Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Changing Lanes) and stars Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Mia Wasikowska, Sam Neill, Rainn Wilson, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Lindsay Duncan and Anson Boon. The movie is based on Bille August’s 2014 Danish feature Silent Heart and centers on terminally ill mother who brings her family together for one last weekend before she commits suicide. Christian Torpe (The Mist TV series) who also scripted the original film wrote the screenplay.

Milan Records has released a soundtrack album for Roger Michell’s romantic drama Le Week-End. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jeremy Sams who previously collaborated with the director on movies including Hyde Park on Hudson, Enduring Love and The Mother. Le Week-End stars Jim Broadbent and Lindsay Duncan as a young-married middle-class British couple who attempt to reinvigorate their marriage by visiting Paris for the first time since their honeymoon. The drama premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters this spring by Music Box Films.

Jeremy Sams has reteamed with director Roger Michell on the upcoming comedy drama Le Week-End. The movie starring Jim Broadbent, Lindsay Duncan and Jeff Goldblum follows a long-married couple who visit Paris for the first time since their honeymoon to revitalize their marriage and meet an old friend who gives them a new view of life and love. Hanif Kureishi (Venus, My Beautiful Laundrette) has written the screenplay and Kevin Loader (Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, In the Loop, Nowhere Boy) is producing the project. Sams has previously collaborated with Michell on the features Persuasion, Enduring Love, The Mother and last year’s Hyde Park on Hudson.
