Deutsche Grammophon will release a soundtrack album for the British drama Blackbird. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Gregson (A Little Chaos, Adolescence), as well as two tracks from the composer/cellist’s “recomposed” Bach Cello Suites. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 18 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Blackbird is directed by Roger Michell and stars Susan Sarandon, Kate Winslet, Rainn Wilson, Sam Neill, Anson Boon, Lindsay Duncan, Mia Wasikowska and Bex Taylor-Klaus. The movie is based on the 2014 Danish feature Silent Heart and centers on a terminally ill mother who invites her family to their country house for one final gathering, but tensions quickly boil over between her two daughters. The drama premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and will be released in select theaters and on VOD tomorrow by Screen Media Films.
