The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the 25th James Bond movie No Time to Die directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and starring Daniel Craig, Léa Seydoux, Rami Malek, Ben Whishaw, Christoph Waltz, Naomie Harris, Jeffrey Wright, Billy Magnussen, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas and Ralph Fiennes. The film’s original score is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Inception, Gladiator, The Lion King) and produced by Steve Mazzaro (The Boss Baby, The Rhythm Section). Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the title song co-written and performed by Billie Eilish last week. Opening semi-wide in a couple of hundred theaters is the supernatural horror movie Lamb co-written and directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson and starring Noomi Rapace, Hilmir Snær Gudnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ingvar Sigurdsson. Tóti Guðnason has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score next Friday, October 15. Opening in select theaters today is the documentary The Rescue directed by E. Chai Vasarhelyi & Jimmy Chin about the rescue of a Thai soccer team trapped in a cave for 16 days. The film’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, The Trial of the Chicago 7, Steve Jobs, Birds of Prey,The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Enola Holmes) who also contributed original song (with Aloe Blacc) to the project. Also opening in select theaters is the drama Mass written and directed by Fran Kranz and starring Reed Birney, Ann Dowd, Jason Isaacs and Martha Plimpton. Darren Morze (The Vanishing of Sidney Hall, Before I Disappear, Dark Was the Night, Demons) has composed the film’s original music. Double Negative Recordings has released a digital single featuring the composer’s earlier this year when the movie premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the crime thriller South of Heaven co-written and directed by Aharon Keshales and starring Jason Sudeikis, Evangeline Lilly, Mike Colter, Shea Whigham, Jeremy Bobb, Michael Paré and Amaury Nolasco. The film’s original music is composed by David Fleming (Hillbilly Elegy, Blue Planet II, The Perfect Guy). No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Already playing in select theaters since this past Wednesday, October 6, is the drama Fever Dream co-written and directed by Claudia Llosa and starring María Valverde, Dolores Fonzi, Germán Palacios, Guillermo Pfening, Emilio Vodanovich, Guillermina Sorribes, Marcelo Michinaux and Cristina Banegas. The film’s original music is composed by Natalie Holt (Loki, Journey’s End, Knightfall, The Honourable Woman, Beecham House). No word yet on a soundtrack release. Opening in select theaters today before premiering on Netflix on Tuesday, October 12 is the documentary Convergence: Courage in a Crisis Orlando von Einsiedel about a cross-section of global citizens in the COVID-19 crisis. Patrick Jonsson (The White Helmets, Black Earth Rising, Virunga, On Her Shoulders) has composed the film’s original score. The movie also features an original song by Michael Kiwanuka.
