‘Wishin’ and Hopin” Soundtrack Announced
MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the Lifetime original movie Wishin’ and Hopin’. The album features the film’s original music composed and orchestrated by Matthew Llewellyn (Deep in the Darkness, Dead Souls). The score was recorded with the Slovakia National Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 2, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Wishin’ and Hopin’ is directed by Colin Theys and stars Molly Ringwald, Wyatt Ralff, Danny Nucci, Krysta Rodriguez, Meat Loaf, Annabella Sciorra, Cheri Oteri, Conchata Ferrell and Camila Banus. The drama based on the New York Times best-selling Christmas novel by Wally Lamb is set in the 1960s and tells the story of a 10-year-old boy who is doing his best to navigate fifth grade at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parochial School.

Laurent Eyquem to Score Lifetime’s ‘The Red Tent’
Laurent Eyquem is currently scoring the upcoming Lifetime mini-series The Red Tent. The bible-themed drama is based on the best-selling novel by Anita Diamant and stars Minnie Driver, Morena Baccarin, Rebecca Ferguson, Iain Glen, Will Tudor and Debra Winger. The two-part series tells the story of Dinah, the daughter of Leah and Jacob, who was only referred to in small glimpses in the Old Testament. Roger Young (Lassiter, The Squeze) has directed the series from a script by Elizabeth Chandler (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, A Little Princess). Paula Weinstein (Blood Diamond, The Perfect Storm, Analyze This) is executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production.

Caroline Records will release a soundtrack album for the Lifetime original movie Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. The album features original and traditional Christmas songs performed by such artists as Chris Mann, The Bird and the Bee, KT Tunstall, The Brian Setzer Orchestra and more. The soundtrack will be released on November 11, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever is directed by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Hop) and stars Aubrey Plaza as the voice of Grumpy Cat. Paul Leonard-Morgan to Score Lifetime’s ‘Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever’
Paul Leonard-Morgan announced on Twitter that he is scoring the upcoming Lifetime original movie Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever. The film is directed by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks, Hop, SpongeBob SquarePants) and stars Aubrey Plaza as the voice of Grumpy Cat. The live action movie follows a pet-store cat that is perpetually overlooked and the 12-year-old girl (played by Megan Charpentier) who can communicate with her cat. Grumpy Cat (aka Tardar Sauce) is an internet celebrity and has already spawned a book, a coffee product and more. Hill also wrote the film’s teleplay with Jeff Morris and Arturo Interian is executive producing the project. Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever is set to premiere on November 29, 2014 on Lifetime.

Premiering on Friday, September 12, is the Syfy original series Z Nation created by Karl Schaefer and starring Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, Michael Welch, Kellita Smith and Anastasia Baranova. Jason Gallagher who is best known as a member of the rock band Leroy Justice is composing the show’s original score. Z Nation takes place there years after a zombie virus has gutted the country and follows a team of everyday heroes must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. Lifetime’s ‘Deliverance Creek’ to Feature Music by Jim Dooley
Jim Dooley has recently scored the Lifetime original movie Deliverance Creek. The drama marks the television debut of author Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John, Message in a Bottle) and stars Lauren Ambrose, Wes Ramsey, Yaani King, Caitlin Custer, Christopher Backus, Riley Smith, Katherine Willis and Christopher Baker. The film directed by Jon Amiel (Entrapment, Copycoat, The Core) takes place at the end of the Civil War and centers on a mother of three who attempts to defend her family’s land by any means necessary. Melissa Carter (Little Black Book) has written the script script and is also executive producing the project with Sparks and Theresa Park (The Best of Me).

Premiering tomorrow night is the History original mini-series Houdini directed by Uli Edel and starring Adrien Brody and Kristen Connolly. John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, Bruce Almighty) has composed the original music for the series about magician Harry Houdini. Lakeshore Records has released two soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score (and additional music by Sebastian Arocha) digitally earlier this week. The Lottery is set 25 years in the future when the human race faces extinction and when women stop having children.
