La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1980 drama Caboblanco directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Charles Bronson, Dominique Sanda, Jason Robards and Fernando Rey. The album features the remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown, Poltergeist, L.A. Confidential, Planet of the Apes, Patton), as well as previously unreleased additional Goldsmith-recorded period music and classical standards. ‘Goldsmith at 20th’ Volume III Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced the third volume in the label’s Goldsmith at 20th series. The album features two classic scores from 20th Century Fox productions composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Poltergeist): The Stripper directed by Franklin J. Schaffner and starring Joanne Woodward, Richard Beymer, Claire Trevor & Carol Lynley and 1974’s S*P*Y*S directed by Irvin Kershner and starring Elliott Gould & Donald Sutherland. The latter score is expanded with previously unreleased material. Also included as a bonus track is the premiere release of Goldsmith’s cue Pacer’s Farewell from the 1960 western Flaming Star starring Elvis Presley. Remastered ‘Rio Conchos’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Intrada Records has announced a remastered version of the 2013 soundtrack album for the 1964 western Rio Conchos directed by Gordon Douglas and starring Richard Boone, Stuart Whitman, Anthony Franciosa and Edmond O’Brien. The album features the re-recorded original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Planet of the Apes, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Patton, Papillon, L.A. Confidential) and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra. Also included is the composer’s re-recording of his Prologue cue written for the 1965 film The Agony and the Ecstasy.
