Intrada Records has announced the release of the label’s new Kickstarter-funded recording of the score for the 1969 spy thriller The Chairman directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Gregory Peck, Anne Heywood, Arthur Hill, Conrad Yama and Alan Dobie. The film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Chinatown, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Alien, The Mummy, Patton, Planet of the Apes, Basic Instinct) was newly recorded with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra under the baton of William T. Stromberg for the project. Also included is a suite of previously unreleased Goldsmith compositions, including the end title track to Rambo II, Alex’s Death from Under Fire, the film version of The Flag from Not Without My Daughter, Homer Writes from Lilies of the Field, as well as the demo the composer wrote for David Anspaugh’s 2005 feature The Game of Their Lives. ‘King Solomon’s Mines’ 40th Anniversary Remastered Edition Soundtrack Album Announced
La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1985 action adventure King Solomon’s Mines directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Richard Chamberlain, Sharon Stone, Herbert Lom and John Rhys-Davies. The album features the newly remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Gremlins, Patton, Basic Instinct, The Mummy, L.A. Confidential, Chinatown). The 40th Anniversary Remastered Edition is being released as a 2-CD set (limited to 1,000 copies) and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples.
‘The Passage’ Soundtrack Album Released
Dragon’s Domain Records has released the first-ever soundtrack for the 1979 British war action drama The Passage directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Anthony Quinn, James Mason, Malcolm McDowell and Patricia Neal. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Michael J. Lewis (Sphinx, Theatre of Blood, The Medusa Touch, The Naked Face). The soundtrack was released digitally on the label’s official website this past May and is now also available on all major digital music services, including Amazon. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1980 drama Caboblanco directed by J. Lee Thompson and starring Charles Bronson, Dominique Sanda, Jason Robards and Fernando Rey. The album features the remastered original score from the film composed and conducted by Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown, Poltergeist, L.A. Confidential, Planet of the Apes, Patton), as well as previously unreleased additional Goldsmith-recorded period music and classical standards.
