Madison Gate Records will release the first soundtrack album for the Hulu original series Woke. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s second season composed by Haim Mazar (The Iceman, Sneakerheads, The Taking of Deborah Logan, I Am Wrath). Also included is the Woke main title theme by Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, Passenger 57 , Undercover Brother, The Transporter). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 8. Richard Mason & Christopher Read to Compose Music for Hulu’s ‘History of a Pleasure Seeker’
Deadline is reporting that novelist Richard Mason (The Drowning People, The Lighted Rooms) and Christopher Read will compose the original music for the Hulu musical drama pilot History of a Pleasure Seeker. The show written by Mason based on his 2012 book of the same name is set in early 20th Century Amsterdam and tells the story of a charismatic young man’s explosive adventures through all the temptations of the Belle Époque. Julie Anne Robinson (Bridgerton, One for the Money, The Catch) will direct the pilot episode.
Ariel Marx Scoring Hulu’s ‘Candy’
Ariel Marx (Shiva Baby, The Tale, Rebel Hearts, To Dust, American Horror Stories, Ted Bundy: Falling for a Killer, The Devil Has a Name) has composed the original music for the upcoming Hulu limited event series Candy. The show is created by Robin Veith and stars Jessica Biel, Timothy Simons, Melanie Lynskey, Pablo Schreiber and Raúl Esparza. The 5-part true crime drama tells the true story of Candy Montgomery, a 1980 housewife and mother who killed her friend Betty Gore with an ax.

The film is directed by Andrew Ahn (Spa Night) and stars Joel Kim Booster, Bowen Yang, Zane Phillips, James Scully, Tomas Matos, Matt Rogers, Conrad Ricamora, Nick Adams Torian Miller and Margaret Cho. The movie inspired by Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice is set in the New York hamlet of Fire Island Pines and revolves around around two best friends who set out to have a legendary weeklong summer vacation with the help of cheap rosé and a cadre of eclectic friends.
