Premiering tonight is the Discovery docu-series Why We Hate directed by Geeta Gandbhir & Sam Pollard and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, Alex Gibney & Frank Marshall. The show’s original music is composed by Laura Karpman (Underground, Paris Can Wait, Step, Taken, Black Nativity). Check out our previous news article and the official show website to learn more about the 6-parter, which examines the concept of hatred throughout human evolution through a variety of lenses.

Premiering on Tuesday, October 15, is the USA original series Treadstone developed by Tim Kring based on the Bourne movies and starring Jeremy Irvine, Michelle Forbes, Patrick Fugit, Michael Gaston, Shruti Haasan, Hyo Joo Han, Tess Haubrich and Tracy Ifeachor. Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery, The Night Of, Legion) and Jordan Gagne (The Rookie) are composing the show’s original music and Russo has also composed the main title theme. Weekly Film Music Roundup (April 15, 2016)

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is Disney’s new film adaptation of The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau and starring Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyongo’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, Neel Sethi and Christopher Walken. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie. Click here for the full album details. Also opening wide is the action thriller Criminal directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Alice Eve, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Furious 7) and Keith Power (Hawaii Five-0) have composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score, as well as the original song Drift and Fall Again performed by Madsonik featuring Lola Marsh. ‘Sing Street’ Soundtrack Details

Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the musical comedy drama Sing Street. The album features the original songs from the film written by director John Carney and Gary Clark. Also included are the other songs from the movie by artists including Adam Levine, The Cure, Motörhead, Duran Duran, The Jam & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas tomorrow, March 18 and in the U.S. next month. Visit Amazon to pre-order the album. Sing Street is written and directed by Carney and stars Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Lucy Boynton, Jack Reynor, Aidan Gillen and Mark McKenna. The movie follows a boy who starts a band in order to impress a girl.
