Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the fantasy adventure Maleficent directed by Robert Stromberg and starring Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Imelda Staunton, Sam Riley, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville. James Newton Howard (The Hunger Games, King Kong, The Sixth Sense) has composed the film’s original music. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as a new cover version of the song Once Upon a Dream by Lana Del Rey. Also opening wide is the western comedy A Million Ways to Die in the West directed by Seth MacFarlane and starring himself, Charlize Theron, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman, Neil Patrick Harris and Liam Neeson. The film’s original music is composed by Joel McNeely (Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the end credits song A Million Ways to Die performed by Alan Jackson and the film’s musical number If You’ve Only Got a Moustache. Milan Records will release a score album for the comedic thriller Filth. The album features the film’s original music composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Black Swan). The soundtrack will be released in the UK on September 27, 2013 and in the US on April 22, 2014. Visit 
Island Records will release a soundtrack album for the British comedic thriller Filth. The album features three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Clint Mansell (Black Swan, Requiem for a Dream, Moon). Also included are the film’s songs by artists including Billy Ocean, The Shirelles, Tom Jones, Otis Blackwell, David Soul, Wilson Pickett, The Third Degree and Clarence Carter. The soundtrack will be released overseas on September 23, 2013. Filth is written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Green Street Hooligans) and stars James McAvoy, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Imogen Poots and Joanne Frogatt. The movie is based on a novel by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh and follows an Edinburgh police detective who is manipulating everyone who stands in his way of securing a job promotion and winning back his family and daughter. The thriller is set to be released in the UK on October 4, 2013.
