Composer Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Up in the Air, Wedding Crashers, Election, Mean Girls, About Schmidt, Freaky Friday) is reuniting with director Jon S. Baird (Filth, Tetris) on the upcoming comedy drama Everything’s Going to Be Great. The film starring Allison Janney, Bryan Cranston, Jack Champion, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth, Simon Rex & Chris Cooper revolves around a couple leading an unpredictable life in regional theater while trying to raise their radically different sons, a hunky football star and his flamboyant, theater-loving younger brother, who unexpectedly have to move in with he mother’s estranged brother. Steven Rogers (I, Tonya, Stepmom) wrote the screenplay.

‘Tetris’ Score Album to Be Released
Lakeshore Records will release a second soundtrack album for the biographical drama Tetris. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, His Dark Materials, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Black Adam, Top Gun: Maverick, The Wheel of Time). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 14 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and most other major digital music services. Warner Music UK has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie and a couple of score cues last month. Tetris is directed by by Jon S. Baird on the new ITV/BritBox limited series Stonehouse. The show is written by John Preston (A Very English Scandal), directed by Baird (Filth) and stars Matthew Macfadyen, Keeley Hawes, Kevin R. McNally and Emer Heatley. The 3-part drama chronicles the rise and fall of MP John Stonehouse, a high-flying member of Harold Wilson’s Labour government and a seemingly devoted family man, whose perfect life spirals out of control in the early 1970s amid rumors of fraud and espionage.
Lorne Balfe to Score Jon S. Baird’s ‘Tetris’
Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, Black Widow, The LEGO Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, The Crown) has been hired to score the upcoming biographical drama Tetris. The film is directed by Jon S. Baird (Stan & Ollie, Filth) and stars Taron Egerton as Henk Rogers, a Dutch video game designer who first secured the rights to distribute Tetris on consoles, Nikita Efremov as Russian software engineer Alexey Pajitnov who first created the game, Roger Allam & Anthony Boyle as businessmen Robert and Kevin Maxwell, as well as Toby Jones. The movie centers on the legal battle that arose over the franchise’s copyright in the 1980s.

This week, Rolfe Kent will be recording his score for the upcoming biographical drama Stan & Ollie. The film is directed by Jon S. Baird (Filth) and stars Steve Coogan as Stan Laurel and John C. Reilly as Oliver Hardy. Shirley Henderson and Danny Huston are co-starring. The movie focuses on the now-legendary 1953 tour which the the ageing comedy duo embarked on in the twilight years of their fame. Jeff Pope (Philomena, Mrs. Biggs) wrote the screenplay. Faye Ward (Suffragette, Tulip Fever) is producing the BBC Films and Fable Pictures production.
Mark Sayfritz to Score ‘Filth’
Mark Sayfritz has signed on to score the comedic thriller Filth. The movie is written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Green Street Hooligans, Cass) and stars James McAvoy as an Edinburgh police detective who is manipulating everyone who stands in his way of securing a job promotion and winning back his family and daughter. Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Imogen Poots and Joanne Frogatt are co-starring in the film based on the novel by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting). Baird is also producing the thriller with Ken Marshall for Steel Mill Pictures, Judy Styler (Moon, A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints) & Celine Rattray (The Kids Are All Right) for Maven Pictures and Jens Meurer (The Last Station, Black Book) for Egoli Tossell Films.
