Quartet Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1990 crime drama State of Grace directed by Phil Joanou and starring Sean Penn, Gary Oldman, Robin Wright, Ed Harris, John Turturro, John C. Really, Burgess Meredith and Joe Vitarelli. The album features the complete original score from the MGM production composed, orchestrated and conducted by Academy Award winner Ennio Morricone (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, The Hateful Eight), including previously unreleased music. Also included is the content of the original soundtrack album on a second disc. Ennio Morricone to Score ‘A Rose in Winter’
Keller Edde Studios announced today that Ennio Morricone is attached to compose the score for the upcoming Holocaust drama A Rose in Winter. The film will be written and directed by Joshua Sinclair (screenwriter of Gigolo & Judgment in Berlin). The movie tells the story of German Jewish philosopher Edith Stein, who was killed by Nazis at Auschwitz on August 9, 1942 after fighting for women’s rights and gender equality in Germany, from the perspective of New York Times journalist Michael Rosten. No casting announcements have been made yet.
Ennio Morricone’s ‘Ripley’s Game’ Score to Be Released
Kronos Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 2002 thriller Ripley’s Game. The album features the film’s original music composed by Ennio Morricone (Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, The Untouchables, The Hateful Eight). Craig Armstrong, Ennio Morricone & Bear McCreary Honored at ASCAP Screen Music Awards
Last night, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held its annual Screen Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Craig Armstrong was honored with the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which is given to composers for outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of music for film, television and visual media. The Grammy Award- and Golden Globe-winning composer was presented the award by ASCAP president Paul Williams and director Oliver Stone who collaborated with Armstrong on the features World Trade Center, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and the upcoming Snowden, as well as the docu-series The Untold History of the United States.
Deluxe Soundtrack Albums for ‘Executive Decision’ and ‘Cocoon: The Return’ Announced

They include a deluxe edition of the soundtrack for the 1996 action thriller Executive Decision directed by Stuart Baird and starring Kurt Russell, Steven Seagal, Halle Berry and John Leguizamo. Ennio Morricone Honored at Walk of Fame Ceremony
Earlier today, Ennio Morricone received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 87-year old composer was joined by director Quentin Tarantino, producer Harvey Weinstein and Los Angeles Italia Film Fashion and Art Fest founder Pascal Vicedomini. Morricone is nominated for an Academy Award for his score for The Hateful Eight and will be attending the awards show this coming Sunday.
Ennio Morricone Walk of Fame Star Ceremony Set for February 26
Ennio Morricone will be honored at the Walk of Fame star ceremony on February 26, 2016 in Hollywood. It was announced back in 2014 that the legendary composer will receive a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame and given his presence in Los Angeles for the Academy Awards on February 28, Morricone has confirmed to attend the event. The star ceremony will take place on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at 7065 Hollywood Bvld. Guest speakers at the ceremony will include director Quentin Tarantino, Harvey Weinstein and Los Angeles Italia Film Fashion and Art Fest founder Pascal Vicedomini.
Ennio Morricone Wins BAFTA Award for ‘The Hateful Eight’
Ennio Morricone has received his sixth BAFTA Award for his score for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight in the Original Music category. Morricone previously won the BAFTA Award for Days of Heaven, Once Upon a Time in America, The Mission, The Untouchables and Cinema Paradiso. He was nominated alongside Thomas Newman (Bridge of Spies), Johann Johannsson (Sicario), Ryuichi Sakamoto & Alva Noto (The Revenant) and John Williams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens).
