Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the gothic fantasy movie The House with a Clock in Its Walls directed by Eli Roth and starring Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, Owen Vaccaro, Kyle MacLachlan, Collen Camp, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Vanessa Anne Williams and Sunny Suljic. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Barr (True Blood, The Americans, Hostel, Cabin Fever). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the drama Life Itself written and directed by Dan Fogelman and starring Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Mandy Patinkin, Olivia Cooke, Laia Costa, Annette Bening and Antonio Banderas. Federico Jusid (The Secret in Their Eyes, Kidnap, Misconduct, The Hunter’s Prayer) has composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced. A soundtrack album will be released for the Japanese action horror movie Tokyo Ghoul. The album features the film’s original music composed by Don Davis (The Matrix Trilogy, Jurassic Park III, Behind Enemy Lines). The soundtrack will be released on July 26, 2017 and is now available as an import on 
Piano Spheres, the solo piano series whose mission is committed to introduce major new works for the piano, has announced this year’s opening concert. On November 12, Grammy-winning pianist Gloria Cheng will perform the world premieres of several original piano works by major film composers for the Opening Night program, entitled Montage. Academy Award-winning composers John Williams (Star Wars, Schindler’s List), Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek) and Randy Newman (Toy Story, Monsters, Inc.) who composed a piece in homage to Alfred, Emil and Lionel Newman, are featured on the program, as well as Bruce Broughton (Silverado) and Don Davis (The Matrix). The concert will also feature the U.S. premiere of Alexandre Desplat‘s Trois Études (originally written for pianist Lang Lang). 
La-La Land Records has announced the details of a new soundtrack edition for the Wachowski siblings’ 2003 sci-fi action sequel The Matrix Reloaded starring Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne and Carrie-Anne Moss. The album features the expanded and remastered score from the film composed by Don Davis (Jurassic Park 3, Bound, Antitrust) who also composed the music for the other two parts of The Matrix trilogy. Davis collaborated with Ben Watkins (aka Juno Reactor) on a couple of tracks that are also included on the release. The original 2003 soundtrack album featured less than half of the score featured in the Warner Bros. Pictures production. To order the 2-CD set, which is limited to 3500 copies, visit the
