Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, Bombshell, Spy) & Joseph Shirley (Bad Trip, The Open House) are teaming up to co-score the upcoming Disney+ original series The Mysterious Benedict Society. The show is developed by Matt Manfredi & Phil Hay (Ride Along, Clash of the Titans) based on the bestselling book series by Trenton Lee Stewart and stars Tony Hale, Kristen Schaal, MaameYaa Boafo, Ryan Hurst, Mystic Inscho, Gia Sandhu, Seth B. Carr, Emmy DeOliveira and Marta Kessler. The series revolves around a group of orphans who are placed undercover at a boarding school and must foil a nefarious plot with global ramifications while creating a new sort of family along the way.

Dominic Lewis Scoring Disney+’s ‘Monsters at Work’
Dominic Lewis (The Man in the High Castle, Peter Rabbit, Free Birds, Money Monster) is scoring the upcoming Disney+ original series Monsters at Work. The show is developed by Bobs Gannaway (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Lilo & Stitch: The Series) based on Pixar’s feature Monsters, Inc (scored by Randy Newman) and stars Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Jennifer Tilly, John Ratzenberger & Bonnie Hunt who reprise their roles from the animated movie. They are joined by new voice cast members Ben Feldman, Henry Winkler, Mindy Kalling, Lucas Neff and Alanna Ubac. The animated series follows an eager young monster who graduated top of his class at Monsters University and always dreamed of becoming a Scarer, until he lands a job at Monsters, Incorporated and discovers that scaring is out and laughter is in.

Premiering tonight is the third season of the Starz anthology series The Girlfriend Experience written and directed by Anja Marquardt (based on Steven Soderbergh’s feature of the same title) and starring Julia Goldani Telles. Matthew Pusti (A Good Woman Is Hard to Find, Whistleblower) has composed the original music for Season 3 and follows Shane Carruth and the Mondo Boys who scored the first two seasons. The third season, which is set amidst the London tech scene and follows a neuroscience major who begins to explore the transactional world of The Girlfriend Experience, only to find herself deep inside the uncanny valley with the relationships she creates, will air Sunday nights on Starz.
Premiering on Tuesday, May 4, is Lucasfilm’s Disney+ original series Star Wars: The Bad Batch created by Dave Filoni and starring Dee Bradley Baker, Ming-Na Wen, Stephen Stanton and Andrew Kishino. The show’s original music is composed by Kevin Kiner (Narcos: Mexico, Doom Patrol, CSI: Miami, Titans, City on a Hill, Making a Murderer) who previously scored all episodes of Star Wars: The Clone Wars (and the feature of the same title) and Star Wars Rebels. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the National Geographic short-form visual series Earth Moods. The album features the show’s original music composed and produced by Neil Davidge (Unleashed, Push, Halo 4, Britannia, Monsters: Dark Continent, Hard Sun, Good People). Visit Amazon or any other major digital music service to stream/download the soundtrack. Earth Moods is produced and edited by Ryan Fouss and transports viewers to a vast array of colorful and calming corners of the world, including blue glaciers, arid deserts, lush rainforests and pulsating metropolises.

The full details of the second soundtrack album for Marvel’s Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier have been revealed. The album features the original score from the last three episodes of the show composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle). Also included is Curtis Harding’s song On and On as featured in the final episode. The Vol. 2 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 30 by Hollywood Records & Marvel Music and will be available to stream/download here. The Vol. 1 soundtrack featuring the music from the first three episodes was released earlier this month.

Soundtrack Album for National Geographic’s Disney+ Series ‘Secrets of the Whales’ to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release the official soundtrack album for National Geographic’s Disney+ docu-series Secrets of the Whales. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Raphaelle Thibaut (Introducing, Selma Blair, Landing Home). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, April 16 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Secrets of the Whales is directed by Brian Armstrong & Andy Mitchell and plunges viewers deep within the epicenter of whale culture to experience the extraordinary communication skills and intricate social structures of five different whale species: orcas, belugas, humpbacks, narwhals and sperm whales. The 4-parter executive produced by James Cameron and narrated by Sigourney Weaver was filmed over three years in 24 locations and will premiere on Earth Day, April 22 on Disney+.

The 4-part series, which tells the story of Beulah Mae Donald, a Black mother in Alabama, who took down the Ku Klux Klan following the brutal lynching of her son in 1981, will air this and next Sunday on CNN.
Additional Track from Christophe Beck’s ‘WandaVision’ Score Released
Hollywood Records and Marvel Music have released the previously unreleased track Family TV Night from the eighth episode (Previously On) of Marvel Studios’ Disney+ original series WandaVision. The cue was missing from the official Episode 8 soundtrack album and is now available to stream/download as a digital single on all major digital music services (including Amazon). Beck’s score and Kristen Anderson-Lopez’s & Robert Lopez’s original songs from all episodes have been released earlier this year (click here for a full listing) and the full series is now available to stream on Disney+.

The album features the original score from the first three episodes of the show composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier & Civil War, Wreck-It-Ralph, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, X-Men: First Class, Big Hero 6). Also included is the Captain America Drum Corps’ performance of the Alan Menken-penned song Star Spangled Man from the second episode. The Vol. 1 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 9 by Hollywood Records/Marvel Music and will be available to stream/download here (and any other major digital music stores). Jackman’s end titles track has previously been released last month and a second album featuring the composer’s music from the final three episodes is set to come out on April 30.
