Premiering on Friday, December 29, is the new season of the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror created by Charlie Brooker. Episodes of the fourth season include USS Callister (featuring music by Daniel Pemberton), Arkangel directed by Jodie Foster (scored by Mark Isham), Crocodile directed by John Hillcoat (featuring music by Atticus Ross, Leopold Ross & Claudia Sarne) and Black Museum (scored by Cristobal Tapia de Veer). The full season will be available to stream on Friday on Netflix.

Daniel Pemberton to Score Gary Ross’ ‘Ocean’s 8’
Daniel Pemberton has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming heist comedy drama Ocean’s 8. The film is directed by Gary Ross (The Hunger Games, Seabiscuit, Pleasantville) and stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna and Helena Bonham Carter. The movie is a spin-off of Steven Soderbergh’s Oceans trilogy and revolves around eight women who plan and execute a heist in New York. Ross also co-wrote the screenplay with Olivia Milch (Dude).
‘All the Money in the World’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for Ridley Scott’s dramatic thriller All the Money in the World. The album features the film’s original music composed by Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, Molly’s Game, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, Gold) who previously collaborated with the director on The Counselor. The full details of the soundtrack album for Aaron Sorkin’s directorial debut Molly’s Game have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Daniel Pemberton (Steve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Counselor, Gold). The soundtrack will be released on January 5, 2018 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Molly’s Game is written and directed by Sorkin and stars Jessica Chastain, Idris Elba, Kevin Costner, Michael Cera, Jeremy Strong, Chris O’Dowd and Bill Camp. The movie tells the true story of Molly Bloom an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before being arrested in the middle of the night by 17 FBI agents wielding automatic weapons.

Opening in most theaters is the action thriller American Made directed by Doug Liman and starring Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, E. Roger Mitchell, Jesse Plemons, Lola Kirke, Alejandro Edda, Benito Martinez, Caleb Landry Jones and Jayma Mays. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the composer’s score, as well as songs by Linda Ronstadt, The Allman Brothers, Walter Murphy & more. Mark Felt is written and directed by Peter Landesman and stars Liam Neeson, Diane Lane, Marton Csokas, Josh Lucas, Tony Goldwyn, Michael C. Hall, Tom Sizemore, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ike Barinholtz and Bruce Greenwood. The movie tells the story of Mark Felt, who under the name “Deep Throat” helped journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein uncover the Watergate scandal in 1974.

Daniel Pemberton has recently composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode USS Callister. The episode is directed by Toby Haynes (Doctor Who, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) and stars Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel and Billy Magnussen. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script with William Bridges (SuperBob). No plot details have been announced yet. Pemberton follows composers such as Clint Mansell, Max Richter, Bear McCreary, Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow, Martin Phipps, among others who previously scored episodes of the anthology series.
