A number of major film/TV/video game composers will be participating at the 14th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at The Mayflower Club in North, Hollywood CA. This year’s panelists include Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Wonder) who recently scored Antoine Fuqua’s hit thriller The Equalizer 3, Anthony Willis (Promising Young Woman, How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming) whose latest project, Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, will be released this November and Nami Melumad (Thor: Love and Thunder, An American Pickle) whose current projects include the TV shows Star Trek: Strange New World & Prodigy.

Anthony Willis Scoring Emerald Fennell’s ‘Saltburn’
Composer Anthony Willis (M3GAN, How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, One Last Night) is reteaming with director Emerald Fennell on the upcoming comedy drama Saltburn. The film is written and directed by Fennell and stars Barry Keoghan, Jacob Elordi, Rosamund Pike, Richard E. Grant, Archie Madekwe and Alison Oliver. The movie follows a newly arrived Oxford University student struggling to fit in who gets drawn into the world of a charming and aristocratic young man who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate.

Opening in select theaters and on VOD today is the horror thriller Candy Land directed by John Swab and starring Olivia Luccardi, Sam Quartin, Owen Campbell, Eden Brolin, Guinevere Turner, Virginia Rand and William Baldwin. David Sardy (Zombieland, End of Watch, 21, Bright, Monster Trucks, Premium Rush) has composed the film’s original music. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a young woman who finds herself cast out from her religious cult and immerses herself into the underground world of truck stop sex workers, is being released by Quiver Distribution.

Opening in most theaters is the superhero movie Wonder Woman 1984 directed by Patty Jenkins and starring Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Kristen Wiig, Pedro Pascal and Connie Nielsen. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (Inception, The Lion King, The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Gladiator, Pirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar). Back Lot Music has released a score album for the comedic thriller Promising Young Woman. The album features the film’s original score composed by Anthony Willis (How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming, One Last Night, The Hive, Knack 2). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and other digital music stores. Capitol Records has previously released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie, including Willis’ version of Britney Spears’ Toxic. Promising Young Woman is written and directed by Emerald Fennell and stars Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Max Greenfield, Laverne Cox, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Sam Richardson, Chris Lowell, Molly Shannon and Clancy Brown.
‘Promising Young Woman’ Soundtrack Album Announced
Capitol Records has announced a soundtrack album for the drama Promising Young Woman. The album features two original songs by CYN (one of which is already available, check out the music video after the jump), new songs by DeathbyRomy and FLETCHER, previouslu unreleased tracks by Muna and Blessus, as well as new covers recorded for the film, including Carmen DeLeon’s interpretation of He Hit Me (And It Felt Like A Kiss) by The Crystals, DeathbyRomy’s take on The Weather Girls’ It’s Raining Men and Donna Missal’s version of Cigarettes After Sex’s Nothing’s Gonna Hurt You Baby. Also included are tracks by Charli XCX, Paris Hilton, Sky Ferreira, Juice Newton and film’s composer Anthony Willis’ version of Britney Spears’ Toxic. The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 3, 2020 and is now available for pre-order here. A CD version is set to come out on April 17 and is available to order on Amazon.

The film is written and directed by Emerald Fennell and stars Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox and Connie Britton. The movie follows a woman who is haunted by a tragedy in her past and takes revenge on the predatory men unlucky enough to cross her path.
‘How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming’ Soundtrack Details
Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for DreamWorks Animation’s holiday special How To Train Your Dragon: Homecoming. The album features the music from the animated short composed by Anthony Willis (One Last Night, Knack II) who has previously contributed additional music to the last two How to Train Your Dragon features scored by John Powell. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 3 and will be available to stream/download here.
