Octopus Records has released a soundtrack album for the Italian Sky original series Anna. The album features selections of the original music from the show composed by Rauelsson. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Anna is created and directed by Niccolò Ammaniti based on his novel of the same title and stars Giulia Dragotto and Alessandro Pecorel. The show produced by Fremantle’s Wildside, ARTE France & Kwaï is co-written by Ammaniti & Francesca Manieri and tells the story of a 13-year-old girl who must contend with a viral contagion that kills off all adults on the island of Sicily. Alex Weston (The Farewell, Wander Darkly) has recently scored the upcoming thriller The Novice. The film is written and directed by Lauren Hadaway and stars Isabelle Fuhrman, Amy Forsyth, Dilone, Kate Drummond, Jonathan Cherry and Charlotte Ubben. The movie revolves around a college freshman who joins her university’s cutthroat rowing team and undertakes an obsessive journey to make the top varsity boat. Ryan Hawkins (The Wedding Party) is producing the project for Picture Movers, alongside Steven Sims (The Stranded) for H2L Media, as well as Kari Hollend and Zack Zucker. Decca Records has announced a new handpicked collection of the musical works from film & television by composer Ludovico Einaudi. The album, entitled Cinema, features 28 tracks by the composer written for and/or used in such films/TV shows as the Oscar-nominated Nomadland and The Father, Russell Crowe’s The Water Diviner (including a previously unreleased track), Channel 4’s This Is England 90, Hirokazu Kore-eda’s The Third Murder, ITV’s Doctor Zhivago, Olivier Nakache’s & Éric Toledano’s The Intouchables & Samba, HBO’s Sharp Objects, James Wan’s Insidious, Kheiron’s All Three Of Us, among others. Opening nationwide today is the action fantasy movie Mortal Kombat directed by Simon McQuoid and starring Lewis Tan, Jessica McNamee, Mehcad Brooks, Josh Lawson, Ludi Lin, Tadanobu Asano, Joe Taslim, Chin Han and Hiroyuki Sanada. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Hidden Figures, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation, Lights Out). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last week. Also opening nationwide this week is the Japanese animated feature Demon Slayer The Movie: Mugen Train directed by Haruo Sotozaki and starring Natsuki Hanae, Akari Kito, Hiro Shimono, Satoshi Hino, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, Daisuke Hirakawa, Abby Trott, Aleks Le, Zach Aguilar and Bryce Papenbrook. Yuki Kajiura & Go Shiina have composed the film’s original music. The movie, which is based on the shōnen manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba by Koyoharu Gotouge, broke local box office records when it opened in Japanese theaters last year and is being distributed in the U.S. by FUNimation.
