Opening in theaters nationwide today is the horror sequel A Quiet Place Part II written and directed by John Krasinski and stars Emily Blunt, Cillian Murphy, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe and Djimon Hounsou. The film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Logan, 3:10 to Yuma, Scream, Ford v. Ferrari, World War Z, Hellboy). La-La Land Records and Paramount Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this week. Also opening wide (while also premiering on Disney+ with Premier Access for an additional fee) is the live-action comedy Cruella directed by Craig Gillespie and starring Emma Stone, Emma Thompson, Joel Fry, Paul Walter Hauser, Mark Strong. Emily Beecham and Kirby Howell-Baptiste. Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Succession, The Big Short, If Beale Street Could Talk, Vice) has composed the film’s original score. Walt Disney Records has released two soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s score and the songs from the movie last Friday. Hollywood Records has released three songs from the soundtrack for the third and final season of the FX original series Pose. Available to stream/download now are the covers of Oh Happy Day performed by the show’s cast, This Day performed by Billy Porter and Andraé Crouch’s To God Be the Glory performed by B.Slade & Ledisi. WaterTower Music has released a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Lucifer. The album features the classic songs (including Another One Bites the Dust, Every Breath You Take, a mash up of Bad to the Bone/ No Scrubs, Wicked Game & more) from the special musical episode Bloody Celestial Karaoke Jam performed by cast members Tom Ellis, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia, Lesley-Ann Brandt, D.B. Woodside, Scarlett Estevez, Rachael Harris, Dennis Haysbert, and Debbie Gibson. All tracks are produced by series composers Jeff Russo & Ben Decter. The soundtrack is now available to stream on all major digital music services, including Amazon. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the musical performances from the show’s first five seasons last summer. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Matthew Herbert (A Fantastic Woman, Disobedience, Gloria Bell, Temple, The Cave, Noughts + Crosses). The soundtrack is now available to stream on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The Beast Must Die is developed by Gaby Chiappe based on the novel of the same title by Nicholas Blake and stars Jared Harris, Cush Jumbo OBE, Billy Howle, Nathaniel Parker and Geraldine James. Hollywood Records has released a digital version of the expanded soundtrack album for Walt Disney Pictures’ 1991 superhero movie The Rocketeer directed by Joe Johnston and starring Bill Campbell, Alan Arkin, Jennifer Connelly, Paul Sorvino and Timothy Dalton. The album features the newly remastered complete original score from the film composed and conducted by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar, Bravheart, Aliens, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13, Glory), as well as the content of the original 1991 soundtrack release. WaterTower Music will release the first soundtrack album for DC Super Hero Girls. The album features the songs from the show’s first season performed by Dan Petty, Michelle Lewis & Kay Hanley, including the main title song Super Life. Also included are selections of the show’s original score composed by Michael Gatt (Braid, The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson, Blood Drive) who also co-wrote several songs. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 28 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music stores. DC Super Hero Girls is developed by Lauren Faust based on the web series of the same title created by Shea Fontana, Lisa Yee & Aria Moffly and stars Grey Griffin, Tara Strong, Nicole Sullivan, Kimberly Brooks, Myrna Velasco and Kari Wahlgren. The Volume 2 & 3 albums feature more music from the show composed by Nicholas Britell (Succession, Moonlight, Cruella, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Big Short, Vice, Battle of the Sexes).
