Morgan Kibby (aka White Sea) (Grand Army, The Short History of the Long Road) has composed the original music for the upcoming British period drama Mothering Sunday. The film is directed Eva Husson and stars Odessa Young, Josh O’Connor, Olivia Colman, Colin Firth and Sope Dirisu. The movie is based on Graham Swift’s novel of the same title and revolves around a maid living in post-World War I England whp secretly plans to meet with the man she loves before he leaves to marry another woman. Alice Birch (Lady Macbeth, Normal People) wrote the screenplay. Elizabeth Karlsen (Carol, Their Finest) and Stephen Woolley (The Crying Game, Colette) are producing the project for Number 9. Christopher Gordon (Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World, Daybreakers, Crawl, On the Beach, Moby Dick, Adore) has released a soundtrack album for the Australian/Canadian family adventure Buckley’s Chance. The album features the composer’s score original score from the film and is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms (click here to check out audio samples). A CD version is available to order on Amazon. Buckley’s Chance is directed by Tim Brown and stars Bill Nighy, Victoria Hill, Milan Burch, Kelton Pell and Martin Sacks. Writer/director James Gunn has revealed that composers Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Moon) & Kevin Kiner (Star Trek: The Clone Wars & Rebels, CSI: Miami) are teaming up to co-score the upcoming HBO Max original series Peacemaker. The show is developed and directed by Gunn based on his upcoming feature The Suicide Squad (scored by John Murphy) and the character created by Joe Gill & Pat Boyette and stars John Cena in the title role. Steve Agee, Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma and Chukwudi Iwuji are co-starring in the series, which will explore the origins of the Peacemaker character, a man who believes in peace at any cost – no matter how many people he has to kill to get it. Premiering today is the Starz original series Blindspotting created by Rafael Casal & Daveed Digg based on the 2018 movie of the same title and starring Jasmine Cephas Jones, Casal himself, Benjamin Turner, Jaylen Barron, Candace Nicholas-Lippman, Atticus Woodward and Helen Hunt. The show’s original score is composed by Michael Yezerski (The Tax Collector, Mr. Inbetween, The Devil’s Candy, Deputy, Feel the Beat, The Vigil) and jazz trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire. Paramount Music has released a new soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Home Before Dark. The album features selections of the original music from the show’s second season composed by Nathan Lanier (High Strung, Jem and the Holograms, Justin Bieber’s Believe, Max Steel, The LXD: The Legion of Extraordinary Dancers). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download exclusively on Apple Music/iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. The label has previously released an album featuring Lanier’s score from Season 1. Home Before Dark is created by Dana Fox & Dara Resnik and stars Brooklynn Prince, Jim Sturgess, Abby Miller, Kylie Rogers, Michael Weston, Aziza Scott, Joelle Carter, Jibrail Nantambu, Deric McCabe and Rio Mangini. Chu and starring Anthony Ramos, Leslie Grace, Marc Anthony Corey Hawkins, Melissa Barrera, Olga Merediz, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Stephanie Beatriz, Gregory Diaz IV, Dascha Polanco and Jimmy Smits. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), including a new original song composed for the film. INVADA Records has released a soundtrack album for the British horror thriller Censor. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (Only You, The Forgotten Battle). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. A vinyl edition will be coming out later this year. Censor is co-written and directed by Prano Bailey-Bond and stars Niamh Algar, Vincent Franklin, Sophia La Porta, Adrian Schiller and Michael Smiley. The movie follows a film censor who discovers an eerie horror video that speaks directly to her sister’s mysterious disappearance and tries to unravel the puzzle behind the film and its enigmatic director. Walt Disney Records has released a digital version of the soundtrack album for Walt Disney Productions’ 1981 superhero comedy Condorman directed by Charles Jarrott and starring Michael Crawford, Barbara Carrera, Oliver Reed, James Hampton, Jean-Pierre Kalfon and Dana Elcar. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Henry Mancini (The Pink Panther, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, The Thorn Birds, The Great Mouse Detective, Santa Claus: The Movie, Victor/Victoria).
