The movie follows a woman who stumbles across the body of her uncle on an empty road in the middle of the night and – together with her cousins – brings to light the buried secrets of their middle-class Zambian family. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British limited series MaryLand created by Suranne Jones & Anne-Marie O’Connor and starring Jones herself, Eve Best, Stockard Channing, Dean Lennox Kelly, George Costigan, Hugh Quarshie and Andrew Knott. The show’s original music is composed by Samuel Sim (The Spanish Princess, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, The Bay, The Halcyon, Anne, The Long Call, Home Fires). Check out our scoring assignment announcement to learn more about the 3-part drama, which premiered in the UK last year on ITV (and ITVX) and is making its U.S. debut on PBS as part of the Masterpiece series.
Premiering on Wednesday, May 8, is the Apple TV+ original series Dark Matter created by Blake Crouch and starring Joel Edgerton, Jennifer Connelly, Alice Braga, Jimmi Simpson, Dayo Okeniyi and Oakes Fegley. The album features the film’s original music composed by Carmine Diflorio and Usman Riaz (who also directed the movie).
