Opening in around 300 theaters this weekend is the Irish/Polish drama Wolf written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri and starring George MacKay, Lily Rose-Depp, Eileen Walsh and Paddy Considine. The film’s original score is composed by Stefan Wesolowski (Listen to Me MarlonPilsudski). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song written and performed by Rose-Depp today. Opening in around 200 theaters today is the historical drama Benedetta co-written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Virginie Efira, Charlotte Rampling, Lambert Wilson, Daphne Patakia, Olivier Rabourdin andd Herve Pierre. Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, The Crying Game, American History XPoldark, The Hustle, Black Book) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Decca Records has released the original song Somebody Desperate from the film adaptation of the stage musical Cyrano. The track, which plays during the movie’s end credits, is written by Bryce Dessner, Aaron Dessner & Matt Berninger and performed by The National. The 5-track EP features the songs from the movie including the title song performed by lead actress Scarlett Estevez and four cover versions of Christmas songs. Republic Records has released the original song Just Look Up from Adam McKay’s Netflix original film Don’t Look Up. The track is performed by Ariana Grande & Kid Cudi and co-written by themselves, the movie’s composer Nicholas Britell and Taura Stinson. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated special Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas. The album features the original music from the 30 minute-special composed by Tom Howe (Early Man, Ted Lasso, Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, The Mating Game, Charming) who previously scored 2019’s A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon. Milan Records has released the second of three soundtrack albums featuring the original score from the first season of the Amazon original series The Wheel of Time. The Vol. 2 album featuring music composed by Lorne Balfe (Black Widow, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The Lego Batman Movie, Bad Boys for Life, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home) is now available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. The first volume was released last month and the third volume will be coming out on December 17. The label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring Balfe’s principal themes from the series in November. The Wheel of Time is developed by Rafe Judkins based on Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic of the same name and stars Rosamund Pike, Josha Stradowski, Barney Harris, Marcus Rutherford, Madeleine Madden, Hammed Animashaun, Zoë Robins, Daniel Henney, Álvaro Morte, Johann Myers, Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier and Emmanuel Imani. The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (Neighbors, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and stars Billy Eichner, Luke Macfarlane, Guillermo Díaz, Jim Rash, Eve Lindley, D’Lo Srijaerajah, Peter Kim, Justin Covington, Dot-Marie Jones, Becca Blackwell, Bowen Yang, Harvey Fierstein, Benito Skinner and TS Madison.
