Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1981 ABC miniseres Masada directed by Boris Sagal and starring Peter O’Toole, Peter Strauss, Barbara Carrera, Anthony Quayle, David Warner and Paul L. Smith . The 4-CD set features the show’s complete original music composed by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Planet of the Apes, Chinatown, Patton, Papillon, Basic Instinct, Total Recall, L.A. Confidential) who scored the first two episodes and Morton Stevens (Hawaii Five-O, Hardly Working, One Man Jury) who scored the third and fourth episodes. Also included are previously unreleased alternate music cues, as well as remastered version of the original 1981 soundtrack album. Emilie Levienaise-Farrouch (The Forgotten Battle, Censor, Rocks, Only You) has recently been recording her score for the upcoming British drama Living. The film is directed by Oliver Hermanus (Moffie, Beauty) and stars Bill Nighy, Alex Sharp, Tom Burke and Aimee Lou Wood. The movie is set in 1950s London and tells the story of a veteran civil servant who becomes a cog in the bureaucracy of rebuilding post WWII England, when he learns he has only seven months to live. Premiering tomorrow, December 6, is HBO limited series Landscapers created by Ed Sinclair and starring Olivia Colman, David Thewlis, Kate O’ Flynn, Samuel Anderson, Dipo Ola, David Hayman, Felicity Montagu and Daniel Rigby. The show’s original music is composed by Arthur Sharpe (The Electrical Life of Arthur Wain, Flowers, Guilt, The Darkest Universe, Ghosts). Also premiering tomorrow is the HBO original documentary The Forever Prisoner directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Abu Zubaydah, the first high-value detainee subjected to the CIA’s program of Enhanced Interrogation Techniques who was later identified as torture by those outside the agency. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, The Magicians, The Path, I Origins, The Looming Tower, Another Earth) who previously scored numerous documentaries by Gibney (including Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief, We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks & Steve Jobs: The Man in the Machine) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Music Latin & Magnus Media have released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Koati. The album executive produced by Marc Anthony and produced by Julio Reyes Copello features the songs from the film by artists including Becky G, Joy, Gusttavo Lima, Leslie Grace, Carlos Rivera, TINI, Cami, Evaluna Montaner and Ir Sais. Koati is directed by Rodrigo Perez-Castro and features the voices of Sofia Vergara (who also serves as an executive producer of the film), Adriana Barraza, Joe Manganiello, Eduardo Franco, Evaluna Montaner and Sebastián Villalobos. Opening in around 300 theaters this weekend is the Irish/Polish drama Wolf written and directed by Nathalie Biancheri and starring George MacKay, Lily Rose-Depp, Eileen Walsh and Paddy Considine. The film’s original score is composed by Stefan Wesolowski (Listen to Me Marlon, Pilsudski). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music, as well as an original song written and performed by Rose-Depp today.
