Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the Brazilian drama Private Desert (Deserto Particular). The album features the film’s original music composed by Felipe Ayres (The Battle of Shangri-la, The Love of Catarina). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 10 and is now available for pre-order here. Private Desert is co-written and directed by Aly Muritiba and stars Antonio Saboia, Pedro Fasanaro, Thomas Aquino, Zezita De Matos, Laila Garin and Sandro Guerra. The movie, which has been selected as Brazil’s submission in the Best International Feature category for next year’s Academy Awards, follows a police man who – after being discharged due to violent behavior – crosses the country to find his online love who has suddenly vanished. Maisie Music Publishing will release a soundtrack album for the Japanese Netflix original film Asakusa Kid. The album features the movie’s original music composed by Takashi Ohmama. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 9 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon (and any other major digital music services), where you can also check out audio samples. Asakusa Kid is written and directed by Gekidan Hitori and stars Yo Oizumi, Yuya Yagira, Mugi Kadowaki, Nobuyuki Tsuchiya, Ayumu Nakajima, Yusuke Furusawa, Nana Komaki and Yoko Oshima. Quartet Records has announced several new soundtrack albums including a new 3-CD set featuring the complete scores for the last three films in the original The Pink Panther franchise directed by Blake Edwards: 1982’s Trail of the Pink Panther, 1983’s Curse of the Pink Panther and 1993’s Son of the Pink Panther. The Pink Panther Final Chapters Collection features remastered versions of the scores for Trail & Curse composed by Academy Award winner Henry Mancini (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, Santa Claus: The Movie, The Thorn Birds, The Great Mouse Detective,Victor/Victoria) on the first two discs and the composer’s complete expanded score for Son of the Pink Panther (including previously unreleased music) on the third disc.
