Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen, WandaVision, The Book of Mormon) are writing original songs for the upcoming Hulu original series Up There. The romantic comedy musical is set in New York City in the waning days of 1999 and tells the story of one ordinary couple, as they fall in love and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves. The show is written by Steven Levenson (tick, tick… BOOM!, Dear Evan Hansen) (who also serves as the project’s showrunner)  & Danielle Sanchez-Witzel and directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fosse/Verdon). Hildur Guðnadóttir (JokerChernobylSicario: Day of the SoldadoMary Magdalene) has been hired to score the upcoming drama Women Talking. The film is written and directed by Sarah Polley (Away from Her, Take This Waltz) and stars Frances McDormand, Rooney Mara, Claire Foy, Jessie Buckley, Sheila McCarthy, Judith Ivey, Michelle McLeod, August Winter, Liv McNeil, Kate Hallett and Ben Whishaw. The movie is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Miriam Toews and follows a group of women in an isolated religious colony as they struggle to reconcile their faith with a series of sexual assaults committed by the colony’s men. Sight Unseen will release a soundtrack album for the psychological thriller A Perfect Enemy. The album features the film’s original score composed by Alex Baranowski (The Windmere Children, True Things, A Christmas Carol, Staged). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 11 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first track (End Credits) is already available to stream/download now. A Perfect Enemy is co-written and directed by Kike Maillo and stars Athena Strates, Tomasz Kot and Marta Nieto. The movie follows a successful architect who meets a mysterious young woman after missing his flight and strikes up a conversation that grows stranger and more twisted until it turns deadly. Premiering tonight is the Showtime original docuseries We Need to Talk About Cosby directed by W. Kamau Bell about Bill Cosby’s descent from “America’s Dad” to alleged sexual predator. . The film’s original music is composed by Vernon Reid (of Living Colour) (Paid in Full, Free Angela and all Political Prisoners). The 4-parter, which features interviews with comedians, journalists and Cosby survivors about the man, his career and his crimes, premiered last week at the 2022 Sundance Festival and will debut exclusively on Showtime.

Premiering on Wednesday, February 2, is the Hulu limited series Pam & Tommy developed by Robert Siegel & DV DeVincentis and starring Lily James, Sebastian Stan, Seth Rogen, Nick Offerman, Taylor Schilling, Andrew Dice Clay, Spencer Granese, Pepi Sonuga and Mozhan Marnò. Matthew Margeson (Rocketman, Kingsman: The Secret ServiceEddie the EagleMiss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children) has composed the show’s original music. Gilad Benamram (Fauda, Bard of Blood, The Girl on the Train, Club Life) is the composer of the new Apple TV+ original series Suspicion. The show is developed by Rob Williams (The Victim) based on the Israeli series False Flag and stars Uma Thurman, Kunal Nayyar, Noah Emmerich, Georgina Campbell, Elyes Gabel, Elizabeth Henstridge, Tom Rhys-Harries and Angel Coulby. The 8-part thriller follows four seemingly ordinary British citizens trying to prove their innocence when the son of a prominent American businesswoman is kidnapped at the New York hotel in which they are staying. Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the new television adaptation of Jules Verne’s classic novel Around the World in 80 Days. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Christian Lundberg (Snatch, Earth at Night in ColorEleven Eleven) for Bleeding Fingers Music. Also included the series’ theme by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception, Dune) and Lundberg. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 30 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Opening in select U.S. theaters this weekend is the drama Sundown written and directed by Michel Franco and starring Tim Roth, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Henry Goodman, Iazua Larios, Albertine Kotting McMillan and Samuel Bottomley. The film doesn’t feature an original score and no soundtrack release is expected. The movie revolves around a wealthy Briton attempting to abandon his life while vacationing in Acapulco, when a single phone call shatters his idyll and he must return to London immediately. The drama premiered at last year’s Venice and Toronto Film Festivals and is being released by Bleecker Street.

Also opening in select theaters is the comedy Rifkin’s Festival written and directed by Woody Allen and starring Wallace Shawn, Elena Anaya, Louis Garrel, Gina Gershon, Sergi López and Christoph Waltz. The film’s original music is composed by Stephane Wrembel (Today’s Special). No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a cinema devotee who accompanies his publicist wife to the San Sebastian Film Festival in Spain, worried that her fascination with her young film director client might be more than professional, is being distributed by MPI Media Group. Roadrunner Records & Warner Records have released the end credits song Fall Out of Love from the fifth installment in the Scream series. The new version of the track written by William Gould & Matthew Reynolds is performed by Salem with additional vocals by Carlie Hanson and is now available to stream on all major digital music platforms. MovieScore Media will release the official soundtrack album for British comedy drama The Duke. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee George Fenton (Dangerous LiaisonsGroundhog Day, Hitch, Anna and the KingThe Blue Planet, Ever After). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 25 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Duke is directed by Roger Michell and stars Jim Broadbent, Helen Mirren, Fionn Whitehead, Matthew Goode and Anna Maxwell Martin. The movie follows a 60 year-old London cab driver who in 1961 stole Goya’s portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery, the only robbery in the museum’s history.
