Deadline is reporting that T Bone Burnett (Inside Llewyn DavisCrazy HeartTrue DetectiveWalk the Line) is attached to compose music for a film adaptation of Chuck Klosterman’s novel Downtown Owl. The film is directed by actors Lily Rabe & Hamish Linklater and stars Rabe herself, Ed Harris  Vanessa Hudgens, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer and August Blanco Rosenstein. The drama is set in rural North Dakota in 1983 and revolves around a high school English teacher whose presence upends the lives of locals just in time for a white-out blizzard for the ages. PKR will release a soundtrack album for the thriller Nightride. The album features the film’s original music composed by DJ and electronic music artist Phil Kieran who has made his feature scoring debut on the project. The soundtrack will be released on all major digital music platforms on May 6. Three first tracks can already be checked out on Bandcamp. Nightride is directed by Stephen Fingleton and stars Moe Dunford andJoana Ribeiro. The movie is set in Belfast over a single night and follows a small-time dealer who tries to pull one last deal with cash borrowed from a dangerous loan shark and – when the handover goes wrong – has to race against the clock to find his missing product and secure a new buyer before the loan shark finds him. Stephen Rennicks is scoring the upcoming Hulu limited series Conversations with Friends. The show is based on Sally Rooney’s best-selling novel of the same name and stars Alison Oliver, Joe Alwyn, Sasha Lane and Jemima Kirke. The drama centers on a 21-year old college student as she navigates a series of relationships that force her to confront her own vulnerabilities for the first time. Ed Guiney (The Favourite, The Lobster), Emma Norton (Rosie, The Souvenir: Part II) and Andrew Lowe (The Guard, Ripper Street) are executive producing the Element Pictures production with Lenny Abrahamson who also directed multiple episodes. The film is directed by André Øvredal (Scary Stories We Tell in the Dark, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) and stars Corey Hawkins, Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff and Javier Botet. The Amblin Entertainment production is based on a single chapter (The Captain’s Log) from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula and tells the story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo – fifty unmarked wooden crates – from Carpathia to London. The album features the film’s original music composed by Pierre Desprats (Perfect Nanny, The Wild Boys, Rouge).
