La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone, the recut version of the 1990 drama The Godfather Part III starring Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Andy García, Eli Wallach, Joe Mantegna, Bridget Fonda, George Hamilton and Sofia Coppola. The 3-CD set features the newly remastered and expanded original score from the film composed by Carmine Coppola (Apocalypse Now, The Outsiders, Gardens of Stone) on the first disc, alternate cues, as well as several cues from the original 1972 The Godfather movie that were re-recorded on the second disc, and the remastered original 1990 soundtrack album on the third disc. The 35th Anniversary Edition is limited to 3,000 copies and is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out audio samples and find out more about the release. Ludwig Göransson was honored with his second Critics Choice Award in the Best Score category for his music for Ryan Coogler’s Sinners at tonight’s 31st Critics Choice Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. He previously received the award for his music from Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer in 2024. Premiering tonight before moving to its regular Tuesday night slot on January 6 is the Fox comedy drama Best Medicine developed by Liz Tuccillo based on ITV’s Doc Martin and starring Josh Charles, Annie Potts, Abigail Spencer, Cree and Josh Segarra. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, The Kominsky Method, Ransom Canyon, Heels, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,White House Plumbers, CSI: Miami, Ghosts, The Franchise, Just Friends). Premiering on Thursday, January 8, is the British Paramount+ original series Girl Taken developed by David Turpin, Suzanne Cowie & Nessah Muthy based on the novel Baby Doll by Hollie Overton and starring Alfie Allen, Jill Halfpenny, Tallulah Evans and Delphi Evans. Andrew Simon McAllister (Nowhere Special, Old Guy, The Devil’s Doorway, Agatha and the Truth of Murder, The Secret, 37 Days) has composed the show’s original music.
