Amazon Content Services has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish biographical drama The Red Virgin (La virgen roja). The album features the film’s original music composed by Juanma Latorre (Teresa) & Guille Galván (The Daughter). The Red Virgin is directed by Paula Ortiz and stars Najwa Nimri, Alba Planas, Aixa Villagrán, Pepe Viyuela and Patrick Criado. The movie tells the story of Hildegart Rodríguez, born in 1914 as a child prodigy and raised by her mother to be a model for future women, who gave conferences on sexuality and feminism from the age of 11 and accompanied H.G. Premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Franchise created by Jon Brown and starring Himesh Patel, Aya Cash, Jessica Hynes, Darren Goldstein, Billy Magnussen, Isaac Powell and Lolly Adefope. The show’s original score is composed by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Kominsky Method, Heels, White House Plumbers, CSI :Miami, Ghosts). Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Soul, Challengers, Watchmen, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) have contributed the theme and music for the first episode. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the psychological thriller Joker: Folie à Deux directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson and Zazie Beetz. The film’s original score is composed by Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl, A Haunting in Venice, Women Talking, Tar, Sicario: Day of the Soldado). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score last Friday (click here for the full album details) and Interscope Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the Warner Bros. Also opening wide is the drama White Bird directed by Marc Forster and starring Ariella Glaser, Orlando Schwerdt, Helen Mirren, Gillian Anderson and Bryce Gheisar.
