A24 Music will release the official soundtrack album for the drama Sing Sing. The album features the film’s original music composed by The National’s Bryce Dessner (The Two Popes, She Came to Me, BardoManhunt, The Kitchen, A Good PersonIrresistible) who recorded his score with the London Contemporary Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, July 12 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The show is created by Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, Hell or High Water) and stars Billy Bob Thornton, Ali Larter, Michelle Randolph, Kayla Wallace, Jacob Lofland, James Jordan, Paulina Chávez, Mark Collie and Demi Moore, as well as Jon Hamm will star in a recurring guest role with Andy Garcia & Michael Peña appearing as guest stars. The drama based on the podcast Boomtown from Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and tells  modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The album features the film’s original score written by music producer, DJ and composer Forest Swords (aka Matthew Barnes) (As Dusk Falls). Intrada Records has announced a CD release of Jerry Goldsmith‘s music composed for the CBS 1950s/60s anthology TV series The General Electric Theater. The composer’s scores, which have previously been available individually as digital EPs, have been newly recorded with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and reconstructed and conducted by Leigh Phillips. The music from the following episodes is featured on the album: Hitler’s Secret, The Last Dance, The Committeeman, The Legend That Walks Like a Man, Sarah’s Laughter, My Dark Days and The Bar Mitzvah of Major Orlovsky. The movie based on the play of the same title by August Wilson is set in 1936 Pittsburgh during the aftermath of the Great Depression and follows the lives of the Charles family in the Doaker Charles household and an heirloom, the family piano, which documents the family history through carvings made by their enslaved ancestor.
