The details of the final soundtrack album for the USA original series Mr. Robot have been revealed. The album features selections of the original music from the last seven episodes of the show’s fourth and final season composed by Emmy Award winner Mac Quayle (Feud: Bette and Joan, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Gaslit, Pose). The Volume 8 soundtrack will be released digitally on May 9, 2023 by Lakeshore Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. L’R du Trésor has released a soundtrack EP for the French sci-fi thriller The Gravity (La gravité). The 6-track EP features the film’s original score composed by Evgueni & Sacha Galperine (The Undoing, Radioactive, Scenes from a Marriage, Loveless, Happening, The Family, Wizard of Lies). Premiering today is the Paramount+ original series Fatal Attraction developed by Alexandra Cunningham and starring Joshua Jackson, Lizzy Caplan, Amanda Peet, Toby Huss, Brian Goodman, Alyssa Jirrels and Reno Wilson. The show’s original music is composed by Craig DeLeon (The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, Velma, End of the Road, Music, The Last Survivors). The thriller, which is based on Adrian Lyne’s 80s hit movie of the same title, will be available to stream exclusively on Paramount+.
Also premiering today is the British limited series Tom Jones written by Gwyneth Hughes based on Henry Fielding’s novel The History of Tom Jones, A Foundling and starring Solly McLeod, Sophie Wilde, Hannah Waddingham, Shirley Henderson, James Fleet, Felicity Montagu, Alun Armstrong, James Wilbraham, Pearl Mackie and Tamzin Merchant. Matthew Slater (Grace, Endeavour) has composed the show’s original music. Parlophone Music has released the first song from the soundtrack for the Danish Netflix original film A Beautiful Life. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is Hope This Song Is for You co-written (with Daniel Schulz & Jeppe London) and performed by Danish singer/songwriter Christopher who also stars in the lead role. Plaza Mayor Company has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese drama The Best Is Yet to Come (Bu zhi bu xiu). The album features the film’s original music composed by Yoshihiro Hanno (Mountain May Depart, Spring Tide, Winter Boy). The Best Is Yet to Come is directed by Wang Jing and stars White K, Miao Miao, Zhang Songwe and Song Yang. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the film adaptation of Judy Blume’s classic novel Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig and starring Abby Ryder Fortson, Rachel McAdams and Kathy Bates. The film’s original music is composed by Hans Zimmer (The Lion King, Dune, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Interstellar, Inception). No soundtrack album has been announced yet. Also opening wide is the biographical drama Big George Foreman directed by George Tillman Jr. and starring Khris Davis, Jasmine Mathews, Sullivan Jones, John Magaro, Lawrence Gilliard Jr. and Sonja Sohn. Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, Emancipation, The Affair, Wonder, Enough Said, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan) has composed the film’s original music. Producer Nina Jacobson has revealed during a recent interview at this year’s CinemaCon that Dave Cobb has co-written and produced new songs for Francis Lawrence’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The Grammy Award-winning music producer and songwriter who is best known for his work with country music artists such as Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlile, Sturgill Simpson & John Prine has contributed several songs, which are performed in the film by Rachel Zegler who stars in the lead role as Lucy Gray Baird.
