David Wingo (Mud, Take Shelter, Barry, Midnight Special, The Exorcist: Believer, The Report, Loving) and Dabney Morris (Sometimes I Think About Dying, Broken Diamonds, Procession) have composed the original music for the upcoming comedy Splitsville. The film is directed by Michael Angelo Covino (The Climb) and stars Dakota Johnson, Adria Arjona, Covino himself, Kyle Marvin, Nicholas Braun, Charlie Gillespie, David Castañeda, Simon Webster, Tyrone Benskin, Stephen Adekolu and O-T Fagbenle. The movie follows a man who – after his wife asks him for a divorce – runs to his friends for support and is shocked to discover that the secret to their happiness is an open marriage. Covino & Kyle Marvin also co-wrote the screenplay. Covino, Marvin & Johnson are also producing the Topic Studios production with Ro Donnelly (Cha Cha Real Smooth, Daddio), Ryan Heller (Theater Camp), Emily Korteweg (God’s Time), Jeff Deutchman and Samantha Racanelli. Splitsville is premiering this month at the Cannes Film Festival and is set to be released in theaters on August 22 by Neon.
