Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack release for the upcoming family movie Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World in 4D. The album includes the movie’s original score composed by Carl Thiel and Robert Rodriguez. The soundtrack will be released on August 16, 2011 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World is written, directed and produced by Rodriguez and stars Jessica Alba as a mother who returns to her old profession as a retired spy in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time. The movie co-stars Joel McHale, Jeremy Piven, Ricky Gervais, Alexa Vega, Daryl Sabara, Rowan Blanchard, Mason Cook, Danny Trejo and Antonio Banderas. The film will be released on August 19. Alberto Iglesias’ ‘Le moine’ Soundtrack released

Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the French/Spanish co-production Le moine (The Monk). The album includes the film’s original score composed by Alberto Iglesias who is having a busy year with two potential Award contenders, including the John Le Carre adaptation Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Pedro Almadovar’s The Skin I Live In coming out later this year. The music for Le Moine is performed by The London Session Orchestra and the Metro Voices. The soundtrack is now available to order from Europe on Quartet Records’ website, where you can also listen to audio clips. The album is also available in the US from Screen Archives. Le moine directed by Dominik Moll is an adaptation of the classic 1796 Gothic novel by Mathew Gregory Lewis and centers around Capucin Ambrosio, a pious, well-respected monk in Spain and his violent downfall. Varese Sarabande has revealed the soundtrack details for the horror comedy Fright Night. As previously reported, the album contains the original score by composer Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man). Klaus Badelt‘s Label Zero has released the soundtrack album for the animated feature Jock of the Bushveld. The album includes selections from the film’s original score by Badelt and Ian Honeyman. Also featured on the soundtrack are original songs performed by Bryan Adams, Johnny Clegg, Mandy Patinkin, Craig Hinds, Nianell and James Carrington. The album is available to download on Amazon. The project marks the feature directing debut of David Brooks and is written by Chris Sparling, the screenwriter behind last year’s critically acclaimed thriller Buried. New ‘Days of Heaven’ Soundtrack by Ennio Morricone released

This past week, Film Score Monthly has released a new soundtrack album for Terrence Malick’s 1978 drama Days of Heaven. The film’s Academy Award-nominated score is composed by Ennio Morricone. The album comes in a 2CD set and includes the 1978 soundtrack album including most of Morricone’s major themes and some music not heard in the picture, as well as the composer’s cues as heard in the final film on one disc. The AV Club (via The Playlist) has revealed that Sigur Rós frontman Jónsi is scoring Cameron Crowe’s upcoming comedy drama We Bought a Zoo. The film is based on Benjamin Mee’s memoir and revolves around a widowed father who buys a dilapidated zoo in hopes of making a fresh start. He and his children, along with a small but loyal staff, work to get the zoo reopened. The film is starring Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson, Elle Fanning, Angus Macfadyen and Thomas Hayden Church. Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada, Morning Glory) is adapting Mee’s memoir for the screen and Julie Torn (Unstoppable, Red Riding Hood) is producing. The album features four tracks from the score by Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman, as well as a number of songs from the movie by artists including Elvis Costello, Del Amitri, Tricky, Fatboy Slim, Primal Scream, Robbie Williams, Ronan Keating, Corona and Tears for Fears. Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi western Cowboys & Aliens directed by Jon Favreau, produced by Steven Spielberg and starring Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Paul Dano and Sam Rockwell. The film’s music is composed by Harry Gregson-Williams. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is now available to download on iTunes and will be released on CD on August 16. Also opening wide is the romantic comedy Crazy, Stupid, Love. directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, written by Dan Fogelman and starring Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone, Kevin Bacon and Marisa Tomei. Christophe Beck and Nick Urata composed the movie’s score. A soundtrack album featuring twelve songs from the film has been released on Watertower Music.
