Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the HBO movie Too Big to Fail. The album includes the original score by Marcelo Zarvos. The soundtrack will be released on July 12, 2011 and is now available to pre-order on Amazon. Too Big to Fail is directed by Curtis Hanson and stars William Hurt, Paul Giamatti, James Woods, Billy Crudup, Matthew Modine, Tony Shalhoub, Topher Grace, Kathy Baker, Bill Pullman, Michael O’Keefe and Cynthia Nixon. The film about the financial crisis of 2008 and the group of powerbrokers who decided the fate of the world’s economy in a matter of a few weeks premiered last month on HBO. Blake Neely to Score ABC’s ‘Pan Am’

Blake Neely is set to score the upcoming ABC drama Pan Am. The show set in the 1960’s revolves around pilots and flight attendants working at the iconic and once-dominant Pan Am airline. The drama stars Christina Ricci in her first major TV gig, as well as Kelli Garner (The Aviator), Jonah Lotan (Generation Kill), Michael Mosley (Scrubs), Margot Robbie and Karine Vanasse. Jack Orman (ER, JAG) created the show and Thomas Schlamme (Parenthood, The West Wing) directed the pilot. Orman and Schlamme are also producing alongside Nancy Hult Ganis, who was a Pan Am flight attendant herself in the 70’s. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the comedy drama Every Day. The album includes the original score by Jeanine Tesori (Nights in Rodanthe). The soundtrack was released yesterday and is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out below. Every Day is directed by Richard Levine and stars Liev Schreiber, Helen Hunt, Carla Gugino, Brian Dennehy and Eddie Izzard. Varese Sarabande has revealed the soundtrack details for Mr. Popper’s Penguins. The album includes 27 tracks of the original score composed by Rolfe Kent. The soundtrack will be released on June 28, 2011 and is now available to pre-order on Amazon. The music has recently been recorded at the Fox Alfred Newman scoring stage in Los Angeles. Mr. Popper’s Penguins is an adaptation of the 1938 children’s book and stars Jim Carrey, Carla Gugino, Madeline Carroll and Angela Lansbury. The movie will be released on June 17 by 20th Century Fox. Rupert Gregson-Williams is currently scoring the upcoming comedy Jack and Jill. The project reunites the composer with director Dennis Dugan who worked with Gregson-Williams on his last four movies, most recently on the comedies Just Go With It and Grown Ups. The film stars Adam Sandler who plays both main characters in the film, Jack and Jill. Jack is a family man who is forced to deal with Jill, his twin sister from the Bronx when she comes to Los Angeles for a visit and then won’t leave. It has been announced today that the official soundtrack album for the upcoming sci-fi action film Rise of the Planet of the Apes will be released by Varese Sarabande Records. The soundtrack includes the score from the movie by composer Patrick Doyle on his second major summer blockbuster project after Thor. The album will be released on July 26, 2011. Varese Sarabande Records will be releasing the soundtrack album for the upcoming sci-fi action western Cowboys & Aliens. The album features the original score from the film by composer Harry Gregson-Williams. The soundtrack will be released on July 26, 2011. It has been reported that the electronic music group Hybrid has collaborated with Gregson-Williams on the score. No word yet on if any of Hybrid’s contributions will be on the album. Gabriel Yared is writing the score for the upcoming drama In the Land of Blood and Honey. The film marks the directorial debut of Angelina Jolie who also wrote the screenplay for the project. The movie starring Rade Serbedzija, Nikola Djuricko and Goran Kostic is set during the bloody civil war in the former-Yugoslavia in the early ’90s and tells the love story between a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who meet on the eve of the war and the effect the crisis has on their relationship.
