Milan Records has announced a soundtrack album for the drama The Last Circus. The album includes the original score by composer Roque Banos (The Machinist, the upcoming Intruders) performed by the Bratislava Symphony Orchestra. Also featured on the soundtrack is a rendition of Raphael’s Balada de la Trompet, The soundtrack will be released on August 16, 2011. To pre-order the CD, visit Amazon. The Last Circus is written and directed by Álex de la Iglesia and centers on a “happy” clown who is forcibly recruited to serve in the Spanish Civil War, where he massacres an entire platoon with a machete still in costume. Varese Sarabande has announced a score release for the upcoming drama The Help. The film’s music is composed by Thomas Newman. The soundtrack will be released on September 13, 2011. The album is now available for pre-order on Amazon. More details including cover art and track list will be posted on this page within the next few weeks. The Help is directed by Tate Taylor and stars Emma Stone, Allison Janney, Sissy Spacek, Viola Davis, Bryce Dallas Howard, Mike Vogel and Cicely Tyson. The movie based on the best-selling novel by Kathryn Stockett about the conflicted and complex relationships between Southern women and their housekeepers at the beginning of the civil rights movement will be released in theaters on August 12. Anton Sanko to Score ‘The Possession’

Anton Sanko has signed on to score next year’s horror thriller The Possession. The movie directed by Ole Bornedal (Nightwatch, I Am Dina) stars Jeffrey Dean Morgan as a recently divorced father whose youngest daughter becomes strangely connected to an antique wooden box she purchased at a yard sale. As the daughter’s behavior becomes more erratic, the father senses a dark presence building until he discovers that the box was built to contain a dibbuk – a dislocated spirit that inhabits and ultimately devours its human host. Kyra Sedgwick, Grant Show and Madison Davenport are co-starring in the film which was originally entitled Dibbuk Box. Sam Raimi and Bob Tapert are producing via Ghost House Pictures. Universal Republic to release ‘The Hunger Games’ Soundtrack

Lionsgate has announced today that Universal Republic will be releasing a number of different soundtrack albums for next year’s The Hunger Games. Most notably, the label is planning a release of the film’s score by Danny Elfman and T Bone Burnett. In addition, Universal Republic will also release a series of companion recordings that will feature new songs directly influenced by the themes and subject matter of The Hunger Games, all recorded by some of music’s most successful and acclaimed artists. The film’s Executive Music Producer and co-composer T-Bone Burnett will produce many of these recordings, and will oversee all production. The album includes the movie’s original score composed by Carl Thiel and Robert Rodriguez. The soundtrack will be released on August 16, 2011 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World is written, directed and produced by Rodriguez and stars Jessica Alba as a mother who returns to her old profession as a retired spy in order to prevent a villain bent on stopping time. Quartet Records has released a soundtrack album for the French/Spanish co-production Le moine (The Monk). The album includes the film’s original score composed by Alberto Iglesias who is having a busy year with two potential Award contenders, including the John Le Carre adaptation Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy and Pedro Almadovar’s The Skin I Live In coming out later this year. The music for Le Moine is performed by The London Session Orchestra and the Metro Voices. The soundtrack is now available to order from Europe on Quartet Records’ website, where you can also listen to audio clips. The album is also available in the US from Screen Archives. Le moine directed by Dominik Moll is an adaptation of the classic 1796 Gothic novel by Mathew Gregory Lewis and centers around Capucin Ambrosio, a pious, well-respected monk in Spain and his violent downfall.
