ASCAP, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, has announced today that Michael Giacchino will be honored at this year’s 34th ASCAP Screen Music Awards, which takes place on May 15 in Beverly Hills. The Academy Award-, Emmy Award- and Grammy Award-winning composer whose credits include Up, The Incredibles, Lost, Ratatouille, Star Trek, Jurassic World, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Doctor Strange, among dozens of other titles, will receive the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award.

Trevor Rabin Honored at ASCAP Film and TV Music Awards
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) hosted its 27th Annual Film & Television Music Awards last Thursday night, June 28, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. The awards celebration honored composers of the top box office film music, the most performed television music and the top video game music of 2011. The honorees included composers Hans Zimmer, Howard Shore, John Powell, Michael Giacchino, James Newton Howard, Carter Burwell, Trent Reznor and Patrick Doyle. Trevor Rabin to Receive ASCAP Henry Mancini Award
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced that composer Trevor Rabin will be honored at the 27th Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards on June 28, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Rabin will receive the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music. The composer’s best known credits include numerous films for producer Jerry Bruckheimer, including Remember the Titans, Con Air, Enemy of the State, Gone in 60 Seconds, both National Treasuremovies, Bad Boys 2 and Armageddon. The former member of the rock band Yes also composed the music for such titles as Get Smart, The Guardian and most recently, I Am Number Four. Previous recipients of the award include Angelo Badalamenti, Bruce Broughton, Carter Burwell, John Debney, Mark Isham, Quincy Jones, Michel Legrand, Dennis McCarthy, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Johnny Mandel, Marc Shaiman, Howard Shore, and Hans Zimmer. In addition, the composers of the most performed film and television music of 2011 will also be honored at the ASCAP event.
Angelo Badalamenti and Alf Clausen Honored at ASCAP Awards
The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has published the acceptance speeches at this year’s ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards. As reported last month, Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, Mulholland Drive) received the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which was handed to him by director David Lynch at the event on June 23, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced today that composers Angelo Badalamenti and Alf Clausen will be honored at the 26th Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards on June 23, 2011 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Badalamenti will be receiving the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music. The composer is best known for his scores for director David Lynch who will be presenting Badalamenti with the award at the ceremony. His credits include Blue Velvet, Twin Peaks, The City of Lost Children and A Very Long Engagement. He also has been nominated for two Golden Globes for his scores for The Straight Story and Mulholland Drive.
