Hogan (Muriel’s Wedding) and stars Toni Collette as a crazy hotheaded hitchhiker who is brought on to nanny five misfit girls by their father, a philandering politician, after he hospitalizes his wife for a nervous breakdown. Liev Schrieber, Anthony LaPaglia, Rebecca Gibney, Kerry Fox, Caroline Goodall and Deborah Mailman are co-starring. WaterTower Music will be releasing the official soundtrack album for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated comic book adaptation The Dark Knight Rises. The album features the film’s original music composed by Hans Zimmer. The soundtrack album will be released on July 17, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The full soundtrack details are expected to be revealed next month. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon and Morgan Freeman reprises the role of Lucius Fox. Federico Jusid and Lucio Godoy are co-scoring the crime drama Everyone Has a Plan (Todos tenemos un plan). The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ana Piterman and stars Viggo Mortensen as a man who takes on the identity of his dead twin brother. Soledad Villamil & Javier Godino (The Secret in Their Eyes), Daniel Fanego, Carolina Román and Sofía Gala are co-starring in the Argentinian film. Vanessa Ragone, Mariela Besueivski & Gerardo Herrero (Son of the Bride) are producing Haddock Films, Tornasol Films and Castafiore Films production, which will be distributed by Fox International Prods. Jusid has previously collaborated with the producing team on the drama The Secret in Their Eyes, which received the Academy Award in the Best Foreign Language Film category in 2010. ‘Circumstance’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records will be releasing a soundtrack album for the Iranian drama Circumstance. The album features the original score composed by Gingger Shankar. The soundtrack will be released on June 26, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this site for audio clips to be added in a few weeks. Circumstance written and directed by Maryam Keshavarz revolves around a wealthy family in Iran struggling to contain a teen’s growing sexual rebellion and her brother’s dangerous obsession. The movie has won the Audience Award at last year’s Sundance Film Festival where the film premiered. The drama was released in theaters last summer and is now available on DVD. Two new movies are opening wide this Memorial Day weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the sci-fi comedy Men in Black 3 directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and starring Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Jemaine Clement, Alice Eve and Emma Thompson. The film’s score is composed by Danny Elfman. Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. The movie’s end credits song Back in Time by Pitbull was released separately and is available to downloaded here.
Also opening wide is the horror film Chernobyl Diaries based on a story by Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity), directed by Bradley Parker and starring Jesse McCartney, Jonathan Sadowski, Devin Kelley, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Nathan Phillips, Ingrid Bolso Berdal and Dimitri Diatchenko. The film follows six tourists who take an extreme tour of Pripyat, the abandoned city near the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. Diego Stocco is the composer of the film. Atli Örvarsson has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller A Single Shot. The film is directed by David M. Rosenthal (Janie Jones) and stars Sam Rockwell as a wild-game poacher who makes a fatal mistake that leaves him with a suitcase full of blood money and hardened killers on his trail. William H. Macy, Melissa Leo, Jeffrey Wright, Jason Isaacs, Ophelia Lovibond and Kelly Reilly are co-starring. The project’s script is written by Matthew F. Jones based on his own novel. Chris Coen (Funny Games, Shadow Dancer), Keith Kjarval & Aaron L. Gilbert (Janie Jones) are producing the Unified Pictures, Bron Studios, Unanimous Entertainment and Media House Capital production. Bruno Coulais Scoring ‘An Open Heart’

Bruno Coulais is scoring the French romantic drama An Open Heart (A Coeur Ouvert). The film is directed by Marion Laine (A Simple Heart) and stars Juliette Binoche and Edgar Raminez as two surgeons whose passionate relationship is turned upside down by an unexpected pregnancy. Laine has co-written the script with Anne Le Ny. The drama, which is set in the South of France is produced by Christine Gozlan for Thelma Films and Catherine Bozorgan for Manchester Films. Nathanael Karmitz (On the Road, Certified Copy) is also involved as a co-producer for Mk2. The English working title of the project was A Monkey on My Shoulder. Trevor Rabin to Receive ASCAP Henry Mancini Award

The American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) has announced that composer Trevor Rabin will be honored at the 27th Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards on June 28, 2012 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California. Rabin will receive the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award, which is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music. The composer’s best known credits include numerous films for producer Jerry Bruckheimer, including Remember the Titans, Con Air, Enemy of the State, Gone in 60 Seconds, both National Treasuremovies, Bad Boys 2 and Armageddon. The former member of the rock band Yes also composed the music for such titles as Get Smart, The Guardian and most recently, I Am Number Four. Previous recipients of the award include Angelo Badalamenti, Bruce Broughton, Carter Burwell, John Debney, Mark Isham, Quincy Jones, Michel Legrand, Dennis McCarthy, Randy Newman, James Newton Howard, Johnny Mandel, Marc Shaiman, Howard Shore, and Hans Zimmer. In addition, the composers of the most performed film and television music of 2011 will also be honored at the ASCAP event.
‘Hatfields & McCoys’ Score Album Released

Silva Screen Records America has released a soundtrack album for the mini-series Hatfields & McCoys. The album features the original score from the series composed by John Debney and Tony Morales. Also included is the song I Know These Hills performed by Kevin Costner and Modern West. Lisbeth Scott (Avatar, The Passion of the Christ) is featured as a vocalist on the score. The album is now available to download on Amazon and audio clips from all tracks on the release are available after the jump. A separate album featuring songs from and inspired by the mini-series is available on Madison Gate Records (check out our previous article for the full details). John Frizzell to Score ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’

John Frizzell has signed on to score Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D. The latest reimagining of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic is directed by John Luessenhop (Takers, Lockdown) and stars Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde, Thom Barry, Dan Yaeger and Trey Songz. The movie is reportedly set immediately after the original film and follows a young woman who travels to Texas to collect an inheritance that includes Leatherface. The project’s script is written by Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell: Final Friday) and Debra Sullivan. Carl Mazzocone (Repo! The Genetic Opera, Boxing Helena) is producing and Avi Lerner & Mark Burger are among the executive producers of the Nu Image Films production.
