Premiering on Wednesday, May 1, is the new comedy Family Tools created by Bobby Bowman (Raising Hope, My Name Is Earl) based on the British sitcom White Van Man and starring Kyle Bornheimer, J. K. Simmons, Johnny Pemberton, Edi Gathegi, Leah Remini and Danielle Nicolet. tomandandy (Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Mothman Prophecies) have composed the show’s score and Matt Mariano (Raising Hope) has also contributed music for the show. Bowman is executive producing the ABC Studios production with Joshua Sternin & J.R. Ventimilia (That ‘70s Show, Rio) and Mark Gordon (Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds). man-of-steelMore details for the soundtrack albums for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot Man of Steel have been revealed. As previously reported, two different albums featuring the film’s music composed by Hans Zimmer will be released. Both the regular and and deluxe edition are 2-disc sets and feature the 28 minute long track Man of Steel (Hans Original Sketchbook), which is performed solely by Zimmer and allows listeners to experience his initial experiments with the film’s music, which ultimately lay the foundation for the film’s final score. The deluxe edition will be housed in embossed steel case  and allows users  to access multiple videos showing a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the music.  WaterTower Music also released more details about the score, for which a drum orchestra was brought that features such musicians as John JR Robinson, Jason Bonham, Josh Freese, Pharrell Williams, Danny Carey, Satnam Ramgotra, Toss Panos, Jim Keltner, Curt Bisquera, Trevor Lawrence Jr., Matt Chamberlain, Ryeland Allison, Bernie Dresel, Vinnie Colaiuta and Sheila E. most-wanted-manHerbert Grönemeyer is reteaming with director Anton Corbijn on the upcoming thriller A Most Wanted Man. The film is based on John le Carré’s bestselling 2008 novel of the same title and stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, Willem Dafoe, Robin Wright, Grigory Dobrygin, Derya Alabora, Nina Hoss, Daniel Brühl and Franz Hartwig. The movie center around a Chechnian Muslim who illegally immigrates to Hamburg, Germany, where he gets caught up in the international war on terror. Australian writer Andrew Bovell (Lantana) has adapted the material for the screen. pain-and-gainExpected to top the weekend box office is the action comedy Pain & Gain directed by Michael Bay and starring Dwayne Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Ed Harris, Rob Corddry, Anthony Mackie, Bar Paly, Tony Shalhoub, Rebel Wilson and Ken Jeong. The film’s original score is composed by Steve Jablonsky (Transformers series, Gangster Squad). Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. big-weddingAlso opening wide is the ensemble romantic comedy The Big Wedding written and directed by Justin Zackham and starring Diane Keaton, Robert De Niro, Susan Sarandon, Robin Williams, Katherine Heigl, Amanda Seyfried and Topher Grace. Nathan Barr (Hostel, True Blood) has composed the film’s original score. The composer has also co-written the original song It’s a Wonderful Life with Lisbeth Scott for the project. No soundtrack album has been announced at this point. The movie centers on a modern family trying to survive a weekend wedding celebration that has the potential to become a full blown family fiasco. scary-movie-5Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the score album for the horror spoof sequel Scary Movie 5. The album features the film’s original score composed by James L. Venable (Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Zack and Miri Make a Porno) who previously scored the third and fourth part in the series. The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 14, 2013. Audio clips will be added to this article within the next few weeks. As previously reported, the label also released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Scary Movie 5 is directed by Malcolm Lee and stars Ashley Tisdale, Simon Rex, Erica Ash, J.P. Manoux, Molly Shannon, Terry Crews, Heather Locklear, Charlie Sheen, Lindsay Lohan and Chris Elliott. The film starring Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Javier Bardem, Penelope Cruz, Rosie Perez and Dean Norris follows a lawyer who finds himself in over his head when he gets involved in drug trafficking. Novelist Cormac McCarthy (No Country for Old MenThe Road) wrote the screenplay. Scott is also producing the Scott Free and Chockstone Pictures production with Nick Wechsler (Magic MikeWe Own the Night) and Steve Schwartz & Paula Mae Schwartz (Killing Them SoftlyThe Road). The music was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. The film is directed by John Lee Hancock and follows Walt Disney’s 14-year effort to persuade Australian author P.L. Travers to sell him the film rights to her book Mary Poppins. Tom Hanks stars as in the lead role as Disney and Emma Thompson portrays Travers. The cast also includes Colin Farrell, Ruth Wilson, Rachel Griffiths, Annie Buckley, Bradley Whitford, Paul Giamatti and Kathy Baker. Jason Schwartzman and B.J. Novak are portraying Mary Poppins composers Richard and Robert Sherman in supporting roles. Kelly Marcel (Terra Nova) wrote the screenplay and Alison Owen (Elizabeth, Jane Eyre) is producing the drama with Ian Collie and Philip Steuer (The Chronicles of Narnia trilogy). The album features the film’s original music composed by Graham Reynolds (Bernie, A Scanner Darkly), as well as the end credits song Gia Ena Tango by Charis Alexiou. The soundtrack will be released on May 21, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Before Midnight stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy who reprise their roles as star-crossed lovers Jesse and Celine from the director’s Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. The movie is set almost two decades since their couple’s first encounter on a train bound for Vienna and finds them in their early forties in Greece.
