Frederik Wiedmann is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Dying of the Light. The film is written and directed by Paul Schrader and stars Nicolas Cage, Anton Yelchin and Irene Jacob. The movie follows a former CIA agent embarking on a global manhunt for his long-standing nemesis, while simultaneously battling an aggressive form of Alzheimer’s Disease. Todd Williams, Scott Clayton and Gary Hirsch are producing the Over Under Media and Red Granite Pictures production. Jeff Russo and Ben Decter have been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama CSI: Cyber. The show is created by Anthony E. Zuiker, Carol Mendelsohn & Ann Donahue (CSI: Miami, CSI: NY) and stars Patricia Arquette, James Van Der Beek, Charley Koontz and Peter MacNicol. The series centers around Special Agent Avery Ryan who heads the Cyber Crime Division of the FBI, a unit at the forefront of solving illegal activities that start in the mind, live online and play out in the real world. ‘Frank’ Soundtrack Details

Silva Screen Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie comedy Frank. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stephen Rennicks, as well as the songs performed by the film’s cast. The label has previously released the original song I Love You All performed by The Soronprfbs, which is also included on the soundtrack, as a single. Frank – Music and Songs from the Film will be released overseas on September 15, 2014. No domestic release date has been announced yet. Frank is directed by Lenny Abrahamson and stars Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scoot McNairy. The movie follows a wannabe musician who joins an avant-garde pop band led by a musical genius who hides himself inside a large fake head. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards were handed out this afternoon at the NOKIA Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Alan Silvestri won his first two Emmy Awards for both his score and his main titles theme music from Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. David Arnold and Michael Price were honored with their first Emmy for their work on the Sherlock episode His Last Vow after being nominated twice before for their work on the series in previous years. In the Outstanding Music & Lyrics category, Tom Kitt and Lin-Manuel Miranda received an Emmy for the song Bigger!, which was written for the 67 Tony Awards ceremony. On Thursday evening, the Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) hosted its annual reception honoring the Emmy Award-nominated composers and songwriters in the music-related categories at the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences headquarters in North Hollywood. SCL president Ashley Irwin, as well as Television Academy music peer group governors Ian Fraser and Michael A. Levine introduced the nominees who briefly spoke to the audience. Among the composers in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Series category present at the event were Ramin Djawadi who was Emmy-nominated before for Prison Break and Fast Forward and received his first nomination this year for his score for HBO’s Game of Thrones, as well as previous Emmy winner Jeff Beal who received his third nomination for his music from Netflix’s House of Cards after being nominated twice last year for both his score and his main title theme from the show.
