Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Gregg Araki’s indie drama White Bird in a Blizzard. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robin Guthrie and Harold Budd who previously co-scored the director’s 2004 feature Mysterious Skin. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 16, 2014. A physical version is set to come out on October 28, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Dickon Hinchliffe has recently composed the music for the upcoming indie romantic comedy Man Up. The film is directed by Ben Palmer (The Inbetweeners Movie) and stars Lake Bell, Simon Pegg, Olivia Williams, Rory Kinnear, Sharon Horgan, Harriet Walter, Ken Stott and Stephen Campbell Moore. The movie follows a single woman who is mistaken for a stranger’s blind date – leading to her finding the perfect boyfriend. Tess Morris has written the screenplay. Austin Wintory to Conduct Film/TV/Video Game Music Concert ‘Mythos’

On October 6, 2014, Grammy Award-nominated composer Austin Wintory (Journey, Captain Abu Raed, Grace) will conduct the all-star orchestra and choir of The Third Estate for the world premiere of Mythos, a showcase of music from Modern Concert Works, Video Games, TV & Film. Wintory has curated the concert from the music of many of today’s leading composers into a seamless, dramatic orchestral work. All of the music has been composed in the last five years, and will be performed without pause. Printed concert programs will be withheld until the end of the concert. Mythos is produced by renowned classical cellist and recording artist Peter Sachon. Gabriel Mann has been hired to score the upcoming NBC comedy Marry Me. The show is created by David Caspe (Happy Endings, That’s My Boy) and stars Casey Wilson, Ken Marino, Sarah Wright Olsen, John Gemberling, Tymberlee Hill and Tim Meadows. The comedy follows a young couple who get engaged, something they quickly realize is harder than it looks. Seth Gordon (Horrible Bosses, Identity Thief) has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer on the Sony Pictures Television production alongside Caspe, Jamie Tarses (Happy Endings, Men at Work), Moses Port & David Guarascio (Community, Just Shoot Me!). Screamworks Records has released a soundtrack album for the horror thriller Dead Within. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joshua Bradford and Clayton Worbeck who are best known as members of the industrial rock bands Stayte, Revolting Cocks and Ministry. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio clips. Dead Within is directed by Ben Wagner and stars Amy Cale Peterson and Dean Chekvala. The movie follows a man and a woman who survive a deadly outbreak by isolating themselves in a cabin. The psychological thriller is set to be released this fall by Millennium Entertainment. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the family movie Dolphin Tale 2 written and directed by Charles Martin Smith and starring Harry Connick, Jr., Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff and Austin Stowell. The film’s original music is composed by Rachel Portman (The Cider House Rules, Chocolat, The Manchurian Candidate). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. The movie follows an ex-convict who is forced to take matters into his own hands after his wife is killed and his son is kidnapped.
