Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy Dirty Grandpa directed by Dan Mazer and starring Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Aubrey Plaza, Zoey Deutch, Julianne Hough, Jason Mantzoukas, Danny Glover, Adam Pally and Dermot Mulroney. The film’s original score is composed by Michael Andrews (Neighbors, Bridesmaids, Freaks and Geeks, Daddy’s Home). No soundtrack album has been released (a release was originally scheduled by Varese Sarabande). Dirty Grandpa follows an uptight groom who, days before his wedding, is tricked into driving his vulgar former Army general to Florida for spring break. The comedy is being released by Lionsgate. Visit the official movie website for more information.
Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Boy directed by William Brent Bell and starring Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans. Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Outlander, The Forest) has composed the film’s original music. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Check out our previous news article for the full album details and to learn more about the STX Entertainment release.
