Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the post-apocalyptic horror thriller Extinction. The album features the film’s original music composed by Sergio Moure De Oteyza (Cargo, Kidnapped). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 14, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Extinction is directed by Miguel Ángel Vivas and stars Matthew Fox, Jeffrey Donovan, Quinn McColgan, Valeria Vereau and Clara Lago. The movie produced by Jaume Collet-Serra (Non-Stop, Unknown) follows two men and a young girl living in a remote village who remain untouched by a worldwide infection that turns survivors into beasts. The details of the soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Boy have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music written by German modern pianist and composer Hauschka. The soundtrack will be released on September 4, 2015 by Milan Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Boy is written and directed by Craig Macneill and stars Jared Breeze, Rainn Wilson, David Morse, Mike Vogel, Zuleikha Robinson and Bill Sage. The movie is the first part a planned trilogy tracking the childhood of a future serial killer, with each installment depicting the character at a different wage, and ending with his full transformation to an iconic mass murderer. Two new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the action thriller Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation directed by Christopher McQuarrie and starring Tom Cruise, Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Alec Baldwin and Sean Harris. The film’s original music is composed by Joe Kraemer (Jack Reacher, The Way of the Gun). Paramount Pictures and La-La Land Records are releasing a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Already playing nationwide since this past Wednesday is the comedy reboot Vacation written and directed by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley and starring Ed Helms, Christina Applegate, Leslie Mann, Skyler Gisondo, Steele Stebbins, Chris Hemsworth, Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo. Mark Mothersbaugh (The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) has composed the film’s original score. Hans Zimmer to Compose Main Theme for Nat Geo’s ‘Saints & Strangers’

National Geographic Channel announced at a panel yesterday at the Television Critics Association summer tour that Hans Zimmer will be composing the main theme for network’s upcoming event series Saints & Strangers. The score will be composed by Bleeding Fingers Music, a collaboration between Zimmer and Extreme Music. Saints & Strangers is created by Eric Overmyer (Bosch, Treme, The Affair) and tells the story behind the founding of America, chronicling the trials and tribulations of the 101 men, women and children who boarded the Mayflower for a one-way trip to the New World in 1620. Bear McCreary has been tapped to score the upcoming A&E original series Damien. The show is created by Glen Mazzaro and stars Bradley James, Barbara Hershey, Omid Abtahi and Meganlyn Echikunwoke. The drama is a follow-up to the classic 1976 feature The Omen and centers on Damien Thorn, the mysterious child from the film who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him and must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist.
