momentumVarese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the action thriller Momentum. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Laurent Eyquem (Copperhead, Winnie Mandela, Rage). The soundtrack will be released on October 16, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Momentum is directed by Stephen Campanelli and stars Olga Kurylenko, James Purefoy and Lee-Ann Summers. The movie follows infiltration expert with a secret past who accidentally reveals her identity during what should have been a routine heist and gets mixed up in a government conspiracy and entangled in a deadly game of cat-and-mouse with a master assassin. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, The Queen, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Jeff Cardoni to Score Fox’s ‘The Grinder’

the-grinderJeff Cardoni has been hired to score the new Fox comedy The Grinder. The show is created by Andrew Mogel & Jarrad Paul (The D Train, Yes Man) and stars Rob Lowe, Fred Savage, William Devane, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Natalie Morales, Hana Hayes and Connor Kalopsis. The series follows a TV lawyer, known as The Grinder, who returns to his small-town home after his show is cancelled to work for his family’s real-life law firm. Mogel and Paul are also executive producing the project with Jess Wexler (The Comedians) and Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Walk Hard, New Girl) who also directed the pilot episode. how-to-talk-to-girls-at-partiesA24 announced today that Jamie Stewart of Xiu Xiu and Matmos have joined Nico Muhly to compose original music and songs for the upcoming sci-fi comedy How to Talk to Girls at Parties. The film will be directed by John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry InchRabbit Hole) and is set to star Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Alex Sharp. the-runnerLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama The Runner. The album features the film’s original music composed by The Newton Brothers (Oculus, Life of Crime, Detachment, Pawn Shop Chronicles). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 25, 2015. The Runner is directed by Austin Stark and stars Nicolas Cage, Sarah Paulson, Connie Nielsen, Wendell Pierce, Bryan Batt and Peter Fonda. The movie is set in the aftermath of the 2010 BP oil spill and follows an idealistic but flawed politician who is forced to confront his dysfunctional life after his career is destroyed in a sex scandal. The film is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Get Shorty, The Addams Family) and stars Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Garner, Robbie Amell, Malina Weissman, Christopher Walken and Mark Consuelos. The movie follows a workaholic businessman who has to figure out how to redeem himself after a terrible accident leaves him trapped in the body of his family’s cat. Daniel Antoniazzi and Ben Shiffrin have written the screenplay. The album features 12 songs from the show’s first season by artists including Blue Swede, Queen, The James Gang, Thin Lizzy, Gloria Gaynor, Hudson Brothers, Peaches and Herb, Cameo & more. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Mix Vol. 1 will be released on October 16, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Guardians of the Galaxy is based on the Marvel Comics series and features the voices of Will Friedle, Trevor Devall, Vanessa Marshall, Kevin Michael Richardson and David Sobolov. mary-poppinsMarc Shaiman and Scott Wittman are set to compose original songs for a new Mary Poppins feature, which is currently in development at Disney. They will also be writing a new score. Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) is attached to direct the movie, which is set 20 years after actions of the 1964 classic movie and will be based in parts on P.L. Travers’ book series. David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland) is writing the screenplay and John DeLuca (Into the Woods, Nine) and Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted, Legally Blonde) are producing the Walt Disney Pictures production. The film starring Dylan Minnette, Daniel Zovatto, Stephen Lang and Jane Levy follows a group of teens who break into a blind man’s home thinking they will get away with the perfect crime. Alvarez has also written the screenplay with Rodo Sayagues. Sam Raimi (Spider-ManOz the Great and Powerful, Drag Me to Hell) is producing the project for his Ghost House Pictures company alongside Rob Tapert (The Grudge, Xena: Warrior Princess).
