David Shephard has composed the score for the first season of the new AMC original series Into the Badlands. The show is created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville, Shanghai Knights) and stars Daniel Wu, Marton Csokas, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger and Orla Brady. The drama is loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West and tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. Gough and Millar are also executive producing the project with David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers, Shanghai Knights), Stacey Sher & Michael Shamberg (Pulp Fiction, Contagion), and Stephen Fung & Wu. Premiering tonight is the new TNT original series Agent X created by William Blake Herron and starring Sharon Stone, Jeff Hephner, Gerald McRaney, Jamey Sheridan, John Shea, Mike Colter and James Earl Jones. The show’s original music is composed by Trevor Rabin (Remember the Titans, Con Air, National Treasure, Armageddon) and Paul Linford (12 Monkeys). Agent X takes place in a world where America’s Founding Fathers created a secret position for a skilled government agent to protect the country from dangerous threats. Dhani Harrison and Paul Hicks have composed the music for the Amazon Studios pilot Good Girls Revolt. The show is created by Dana Calvo (Made in Jersey) and stars Genevieve Angelson, Anna Camp, Erin Darke, Chris Diamantopoulos, Hunter Parrish, Jim Belushi, Joy Bryant and Grace Gummer as journalist Nora Ephron. The drama based on Lynn Povich’s book of the same title set in 1969 and follows a group of young female researchers at “News of the Week,” who simply ask to be treated fairly. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the James Bond movie Spectre directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott. Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Skyfall, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo) has composed the film’s original music. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an instrumental version of the movie’s title song, Writing’s on the Wall by Sam Smith. Also opening wide is the animated feature The Peanuts Movie directed by Steve Martino and based on the comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow). Epic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song performed by Meghan Trainor, a track by Flo Rida feat. Mark Mothersbaugh has recently composed the score for the upcoming sequel Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. The film is directed by Walt Becker (Wild Hogs, Old Dogs) and stars Jason Lee, Tony Hale, Kimberly Williamss-Paisley, Josh Green, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler, Jesse McCartney, Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting, Anna Faris and Christina Applegate. The family movie follows Alvin, Simon and Theodore as they try to stop Dave from proposing to his new girlfriend in Miami. Randi Mayem Singer (Mrs. Doubtfire, Tooth Fairy) has written the screenplay. ‘Creed’ Score Album Details

WaterTower Music will release a score album for the sports drama Creed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Ludwig Goransson (Community, Fruitvale Station, We’re the Millers, 30 Minutes or Less, New Girl). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 20, 2015 and physically on December 18. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. A separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the film will be announced later. Creed is directed by Ryan Coogler and stars Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad and Anthony Bellews. The details of the soundtrack album for Roland Emmerich’s drama Stonewall have been announced. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (The Spectacular Now, (500) Days of Summer, The Age of Adaline, The Way, Way Back). Also included are songs by The Staples Singers, M.C. 2, The Fabulous Originals, Procol Harum and The Silver Stars. The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 27, 2015 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Stonewall stars Jeremy Irvine, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Joey King, Ron Perlman and Jonny Beauchamp. The movie centers on a fictional young man caught up during the 1969 Stonewall riots. Marcelo Zarvos has composed the music for the Amazon Studios pilot One Mississippi. The show is created by Diablo Cody (Juno, Young Adult, The United States of Tara) and comedian Tig Notaro who also stars in the film alongside Noah Harpster, John Rothman and Casey Wilson. The comedy is loosely based on Nataro’s life and follows her as she deals with the complex reentry into her childhood hometown of Bay Saint Lucille, Miss., to deal with the unexpected death of her mother. Notaro is also executive producing the project with Cody, Louis C.K., Blair Breard (Louie) and Dave Becky (Everybody Hates Chris). Nicole Holofcener who previously collaborated with Zarvos on the features Enough Said and Please Give has directed the pilot episode and also serves as an executive producer.
