slasherShawn Pierce is composing the music for Chiller’s first scripted drama Slasher. The show is created by Aaron Martin (Degrassi: The Next Generation) and stars Katie McGrath, Brandon Jay McLaren, Steve Byers, Dean McDermottEnuka Okuma and Erin Karpluk. The series’ first season follows a woman who returns home to find herself wrapped up in a series of grisly murders that mirror the death of her parents. Christina Jennings & Scott Garvie (Murdoch Mysteries) are executive producing the project with Martin. philippe-rombiThis past week, Philippe Rombi has recorded his score for the upcoming French drama Frantz. The film is written and directed by Francois Ozon and stars Pierre Niney, Paula Beer, Marie Gruber, Ernst Stötzner, Johann von Bülow and Anton von Lucke. The movie takes place in the aftermath of WWI and revolves around the encounter between a young German woman who grieves the death of her fiancé in France, and a mysterious French man who visits the fiance’s grave to lay flowers. Eric and Nicolas Altmayer (Saint LaurentChocolat) are producing the project for Mandarin Cinema. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

gods-of-egyptOpening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Gods of Egypt directed by Alex Proyas and starring Gerard Butler, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Young, Courtney Eaton and Brenton Thwaites. The  film’s original music is composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream3:10 to YumaThe Wolverine, The Hurt Locker). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. eddie-the-eagleAlso opening wide is the sports comedy drama Eddie the Eagle directed by Dexter Fletcher and starring Taron Egerton, Christopher Walken, Hugh Jackman, Jo Hartley, Tim McInnerny and Ania Sowinski. Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret ServiceKick-Ass 2) has composed the film’s original score. Ennio Morricone Honored at Walk of Fame Ceremony

morricone-starEarlier today, Ennio Morricone received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The 87-year old composer was joined by director Quentin Tarantino, producer Harvey Weinstein and Los Angeles Italia Film Fashion and Art Fest founder Pascal Vicedomini. ‘Cabin Fever’ Soundtrack Details

The album features the film’s original music composed by Kevin Riepl (Batman UnlimitedSilent NightThe Night Crew) who previously scored 2014’s Cabin Fever: Patient Zero. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 1, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Cabin Fever is directed by Travis Zariwny, executive produced by Eli Roth and stars Gage Golightly, Matthew Daddario, Nadine Crocker, Dustin Ingram, Samuel Davis and Randy Schulman. rainbow-timeHeather McIntosh is composing the music for the upcoming indie comedy drama Rainbow Time. The film is written and directed by Linas Phillips and stars himself, alongside Melanie Lynskey, Timm Sharp, Tobin Bell, Lauren Weedman, Artemis Pebdani, Jay Duplass, Reagan Yates, Austin Fryberger and Robert Longstreet. The movie revolves around a developmentally delayed 40 year old man who is sent to live with his brother. Ian Michaels is producing the project. Mark & Jay Duplass (CyrusJeff Who Lives at Home) serve as executive producers. ‘Fargo’ Season 2 Score Album Details

fargo-2The details of the score soundtrack album for Year 2 of the FX original series Fargo have been revealed. The album features selections from the original music for the show’s second season composed by Jeff Russo (PowerTutCSI: CyberThe Returned). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 25, 2016 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, the label will also release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the show’s second season on the same day. Sony Classical has previously also released a soundtrack featuring Russo’s music from the first season. Fargo Season 2 is created by Noah Hawley and stars Kirsten Dunst, Patrick Wilson, Jesse Plemons, Jean Smart and Ted Danson. Read the rest of this entry »

The album features the music from the live musical performed by the cast including Yolanda Adams, Seal, Chris Daughtry, Trisha Yearwood, Prince Royce and Jencarlos who are performing contemporary hit songs such as My Love Is Your LoveWhen Love Takes OverLove Can Move Mountains & more.  Adam Anders (Glee, Rock of Ages) serves as the project’s music producer. sword-of-destinySony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny. The album features the film’s original music composed by Shigeru Umebayashi (House of Flying Daggers, In the Mood for Love, Curse of the Golden Flower, 2046). Pianist Lang Lang is featured as a soloist on the score. Also included is the original end credits song Eternal Breath co-written by the composer. The film is directed by Jake Szymanski and stars Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick, Adam Devine, Aubrey Plaza and Stephen Root. The movie follows two hard-partying brothers who place an online ad to find the perfect dates for their sister’s Hawaiian wedding and find themselves out-hustled by the uncontrollable duo. Andrew Jay Cohen & Brendan O’Brien (Neighbors) have written the screenplay.
