Lakeshore Records will release a score album for Shane Black’s action comedy The Nice Guys. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Ottman (X2, X-Men: Days of Future Past & Apocalypse, The Usual Suspects, The Fantastic Four, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) and David Buckley (Jason Bourne, The Good Wife, The Forbidden Kingdom). Varese Sarabande has announced the latest titles in its CD Club series, including a deluxe edition soundtrack for Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 sci-fi movie Starship Troopers starring Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, Jake Busey, Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Muldoon, Clancy Brown and Michael Ironside. The album features the expanded original score from the Touchstone Pictures production composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris (Conan the Barabarian, RoboCop, The Hunt for Red October, Free Willy), including roughly an hour of previously unreleased music and unused cues. Also included are two songs performed by the composer’s daughter Zoe Poledouris as featured in the movie. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6). Already playing in limited release since this past Wednesday is the dramatic thriller A Bigger Splash directed by Luca Guadagino and starring Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Matthias Schoenaerts and Dakota Johnson. The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s fantasy adventure Alice Through the Looking Glass have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Men in Black) who previously Tim Burton’s 2010 original film Alice in Wonderland. Also included is the original song Just Like Fire performed by Pink (listen to the track after the jump). The soundtrack will be released on May 27, 2016 by Walt Disney Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ABKCO Records has released the original theme song for the ITV original series The Durrells. The track is written by Ruth Barrett (Harry Brown, Toast, Hunted, Critical). The theme is now available to download as a single on Amazon. The Durrells is created by Simon Nye and stars Keeley Hawes, Josh O’Connor, Callum Woodhouse, Daisy Waterstone and Milo Parker. The drama based on Gerald Durrell’s trilogy of memoirs tell the story of Louisa Durrell who makes a radical change and uproots her four unruly children from Bournemouth, England to start a new life in Corfu in the 1930s.
