Deutsche Grammophon has released Howard Shore: Anthology – The Paris Concerts, a new album featuring music by the Academy Award-winning composer recorded during Radio France’s 2023 Week-End Howard Shore performed by the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and conducted by Ludwig Wicki & Bastien Stil. Mike Schäperclaus conducts Le Balcon ensemble in the chamber works. Among the titles featured on the release are Shore’s scores from Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring & The Hobbit, David Cronenberg’s The Fly, Crash, Eastern Promises & Naked Lunch, Arnaud Desplechin’s Esther Khan and Tim Burton’s Ed Wood. The film starring Jai Courtney, Hassie Harrison & Josh Heuston follows a rebellious surfer who is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and – trapped on his boat – must escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.
