Benjamin Wallfisch has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Rings. The film is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) and stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie is the third part in the Ring franchise and follows a young woman who becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. David Loucka (Dream House), Jacob Estes (Mean Creek) and Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend, I, Robot) have written the screenplay. Read the rest of this entry »

‘Odd Job’ Soundtrack Announced

odd-jobMilan Records will release a soundtrack album for the French comedy Odd Job (Un petit boulot). The album features the film’s original music composed by Mathieu Lamboley (Lolo, I Kissed a Girl). The soundtrack will be released on September 2, 2016. Listen to three tracks from the score after the jump. Odd Job is directed by Pascal Chaumeil (Heartbreaker, A Long Way Down) and stars Romain Duris, Michel Blanc, Alice Belaïdi, Gustave Kervern, Alex Lutz and Charlie Dupont. The film is directed by George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau) and stars Billy Magnussen, Xia Yu and Philip Wan-Lung Ng. The movie chronicles  Bruce Lee’s emergence as a martial-arts superstar after his legendary secret showdown with fellow martial artist Wong Jack Man. Stephen J. Rivele & Christopher Wilkinson (Ali, Nixon) have written the screenplay. Michael London (Sideways, The Illusionist, House of Sand and Fog) is producing the project with Janice Williams (Trumbo, Love the Coopers), James H. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 14, 2016. Let’s Be Evil is directed by Martin Owen and stars Elizabeth Morris, Isabelle Allen, Elliot James Langridge and Kara Tointon. The movie follows three chaperones who are hired to supervise an advanced learning program for gifted children. marco-beltramiMarco Beltrami revealed in a recent interview with Film Score Monthly Online that he is scoring the upcoming Netflix original movie First They Killed My Father: A Daughter of Cambodia Remembers. The film directed by Angelina Jolie is based on the non-fiction book by Loung Ung, a Cambodian author and survivor of the Pol Pot regime, and tells the story of her experiences and the horrors she suffered under the rule of the deadly Khmer Rougee. The film is directed by Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderness, What We Do in the Shadows) and stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo. The film starring Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, Oaks Fegley, Cory Michael Smith and Tom Noonan is based on a children’s book by Brian Selznick and traces the gradually weaving stories, set 50 years apart, of two deaf children who both wish their lives had been different: one dreams of a mysterious actress, and the other of the father he has never known. The show is developed by Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra) and stars Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Hannah Marks, Jade Eshete, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Michael Eklund, Miguel Sandoval, Dustin Milligan, Aaron Douglas, Neil Brown Jr. and Richard Schiff.
